Guild Wars 2 is rolling out some new Twitch drops alongside its first new chapter for the End of Dragons expansion. These Twitch Drops will be available when the new story content comes to Guild Wars 2 on February 28.

Guild Wars 2 spent most of 2022 remastering Living World Season 1. While this brought a missing chapter of Guild Wars 2’s story back to players after nearly a decade, it also meant fans haven’t gotten any truly new story content since End of Dragons. This upcoming update will finally start unraveling the story of Guild Wars 2 after the conclusion of the Elder Dragon saga.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Guild Wars 2 is offering several Twitch drops for players. From February 28 through March 5, players can earn these free items by watching any Guild Wars2 broadcast on Twitch with the "Drops Enabled" tag. They will receive two Heroic Boosters after an hour, a Die Kit Pack after two, a Mini Baby Mount Container after four hours, and a Jade Tech Visor after six.

This isn’t the only opportunity for Guild Wars 2 players to get some free stuff. Until the Twitch drop campaign starts on the 28th, players can log into Guild Wars 2 and receive a free Total Makeover Kit. Additionally, all players can also receive one free 24-slot Mail Carrier Satchel by signing up for the Guild Wars 2 newsletter. Unlike the Twitch drops and the Total Makeover Kit, this promotion lasts indefinitely.

Guild Wars 2 players are excited to see what this new update has to offer, and these new Twitch drops are icing on the cake. So far, Guild Wars 2 has kept a tight lip as to where the story is heading–players only know it will involve a new area in Cantha. If players are lucky, they will get a story trailer teasing the upcoming chapter before it arrives next week.

Recently, Guild Wars 2 shared an update on the future of its development cycle. Rather than having large expansion packs with long eras of Living World seasons between them, Guild Wars 2 will be publishing shorter expansion packs at a faster pace, with less story updates between each one. This will enable Guild Wars 2 to put out more content for players as the game enters its second decade of live service. It seems this upcoming Guild Wars 2 update will be the first of many things players will have to look forward to in Tyria soon.

Guild Wars 2 is available for PC.
