In just a month, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 finally premieres in theaters, but Marvel Studios has a trick up its sleeve for select fans. To celebrate the release of the final film in the trilogy, the studio is bringing back the first two installments to select IMAX screens, followed by an early premiere of the much-awaited third film on May 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is arriving in theaters exactly six years after the previous installment. A lot has changed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since then. This is the perfect opportunity for fans to get a recap on the franchise and see it reach its conclusion. As part of the special screening, Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will precede the latest offering on the same day, allowing fans to watch all three films back-to-back. Are fans ready for a seven-hour movie marathon?

The studio announced the marathon event on its official social media accounts by releasing a Broadway-style poster for the film featuring the main cast. “On May 3, for one night only, experience all the Guardians films in @IMAX including an exclusive early screening of Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, written and directed by James Gunn,” read the caption. A link to Fandango was provided for fans to purchase their tickets early.

Apart from the special screening, advanced tickets for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 have also gone on sale already. The studio unveiled new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 posters to reveal this information. The posters include an IMAX, RealD 3D, 4DX, and an exclusive Fandango edition. It seems like the promotional campaign for the film has begun, and the studio is going all out to drive audiences to the theaters for the finale.

The last time fans saw the Guardians was in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, which takes place after the events of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. One of the team’s key players, Gamora, was missing in action during Thor's latest adventures, but she has been a visible part of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailers. It would be interesting to learn of her whereabouts following Thanos' defeat. Fans need to remember that this version of Gamora isn’t who they have gotten used to seeing in the previous two installments. Thanos sacrificed the original Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War, but a variant found her way into the main MCU in Endgame.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 premieres in theaters on May 5, 2023.
