Today, in order to promote tomorrow's release of Episode One of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series known as "Tangled Up in Blue," the title's developers have released an official launch trailer that provides some details about the initial installment's story. The narrative information revealed in this latest piece of footage builds upon details provided in the episode's first trailer released several weeks ago.

As seen below in the launch trailer for the game's first entry courtesy of IGN, after a gigantic battle that has occurred, the Guardians have managed to get their hands on an artifact that has untold amounts of power locked inside of it. According to the description for the entirety of the first season of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, each of the team members has a reason to tap into the potency of the mystical object, and although Thanos appears to be a threat to the group in Episode One, there's an even bigger antagonist in the form of a "ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind" who is apparently after the relic, and "will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands."

For those interested in picking up Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series' first episode on its release date tomorrow, April 18, it will cost $5, with following episodes sure to have a similar price point as they are subsequently released. Should there be folks out there wanting a physical version, though, Season Pass disc copies will be available starting on May 2 in North America and May 5 internationally that will offer access to first episode and the further four as they’re released.

This sales model for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is similar in the way that the studio has made its other games like The Walking Dead and Batman available digitally first, with a physical version following shortly thereafter. Of course, let's hope that the similarities end there, and that Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series doesn't suffer the same launch day fate of Telltale Games' first episode for its series about Batman, as the title not only had problems on PC, but also the PS4 and Xbox One iterations had issues, too, which caused a lot of fans to hold off on experiencing the release until all of its bugs and glitches were fixed.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is set to release tomorrow for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, as well as for Android and iOS devices.
