The Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy recently ended with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The fan-favorite characters’ storylines were wrapped up perfectly. However, some fans have been complaining about one problem with Dave Bautista's Drax the Destroyer compared to his comic book counterpart. James Gunn has now apologized to fans for this mistake, which revolves around Drax and his ability to play the saxophone.Fans unfamiliar with the Guardians of the Galaxy comics probably aren’t aware that Drax's comic book version is a talented saxophone player. This one skill is lacking in the MCU version of Drax that fans have known and loved over the past decade. Some comic book fans have questioned Drax's musical instincts, or the lack thereof, and Gunn was quick to accept the discrepancy between both versions.RELATED: Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Highlights This Weakness In Marvel’s ApproachOne fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy comics took to Twitter to question Gunn about the missing saxophone in the film trilogy. “I loved the trilogy but I’m sad we never got Super Sax Drax? I feel like Dave Bautista could have really given us some great Kenny G vibes,” Twitter user Laura Kremer posted. Gunn immediately responded and wrote, “I know. Dave Bautista has been taking sax lessons for ten years all to no avail.” He apologized to Bautista and joked about him starring in “the Stan Getz biopic.”

In the comics, there are many instances where Drax displays his skills with the saxophone and entertains his fellow team members. In Infinity Countdown #3, which is the edition that focuses on the Guardians' last mission together, Drax uses his musical skills and the potential of the Power Stone, one of the Infinity Stones, to destroy an army of Chitauri. None of these moments were translated to the big screen, as the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy skipped Drax's musical talent altogether.

Fans wanting to see Drax pick up a saxophone in the MCU have now lost hope with the trilogy's final chapter released. Bautista has already confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is his last appearance as Drax. While MCU fans love to see him as the violent yet loveable hero, Bautista wants to focus on other performance-driven roles moving forward, which are more complex than his portrayal of Drax.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is playing in theaters.
