Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3's Cosmo actress, Maria Bakalova, has recently come forward to shower director James Gunn with admiration for his cinematography skills and overall unique approach to filmmaking.

While attending San Diego Comic-Con, the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, confirmed that the third and final volume for the Guardians of The Galaxy franchise will be a part of Marvel Studios' phase 5. It was also during San Diego Comic-Con that it was revealed that Bakalova would be portraying the character of Cosmo. The Borat Subsequent Moviefilm star carried out the motion capture and voice acting required in order to bring Cosmo to life. Although it has been announced and confirmed that Bakalova will without a doubt be playing Cosmo, it’s still unknown how big of a role she will have in the film.

Now, during a recent interview with DiscussingFilm, the actress dished on just how blown away and deeply inspired she was from getting to watch and work so closely alongside director Gunn. “I love James Gunn, I want to work with him for the rest of my life! He’s just everything. I don’t even know how to say it, he’s so talented. He’s so funny, He’s so fun," she said. "He’s such a great human being - what an example of a person that I’d want to be like. Vol. 3 is set to pick right back up after the series of events that unfolded in Avengers: Endgame. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) will be leading a search through the cosmos in order to find and return the past version of Gamora (Zoe Saldana). However, although the final film will of course be dishing out homages to the original characters, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 will be introducing a plethora of brand-new Marvel characters as well. For example, Chukwudi Iwuji's notorious villain, the High Evolutionary, is expected to make an appearance, in addition to Will Poulter's grand debut as Adam Warlock.

Gunn has already come forward and revealed to the fans base that Vol. 3 will be the ceremonial conclusion for the beloved Guardians of the Galaxy. However, this also lets fans know to expect some form of the fatal end for at least one, perhaps multiple characters. To the fan base, this will without a doubt be a heartfelt goodbye, a hard last film for them to watch indeed.

Bakalova's comments and praise of Gunn's filmmaking skills come as no surprise or shock, as the highly regarded director has received plenty of shout-outs and accolades from other co-stars he has collaborated with throughout the years. One, in particular, is Guardians of the Galaxy's Karen Gillan, who has cooed over Gunn's stylistic approach to the franchise. Gunn without a doubt seems to bring a creative safe haven for actors on set. He allows his actors to feel safe to go to those vulnerable moments, to step outside their own comfort zones all the while knowing that they are in good hands with Gunn behind the lens.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to be released in theaters on May 5th, 2023.
