While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is one of the most anticipated films of 2023, Margot Robbie's Barbie movie also garners attention for its colorful and fun style. The Barbie movie character posters officially confirmed who the cast members were playing, with most playing variations of Barbie or Ken. In response, fans have used to template to add themselves or notable characters/celebrities to the roster.
Having recently pointed out her strange pose on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 poster, Gillan is no stranger to having fun with Nebula. In response to the Barbie movie poster memes, Gillan posted a Nebula-themed poster with the caption, "This Barbie is a cyborg and MIGHT kill you." The caption mimics the taglines used on the official Barbie posters, briefly describing the featured character. Naturally, Gillan chose to focus on Nebula's maniacal tendencies when describing the character.
Jokes aside, Gillan has suggested Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is Nebula's final appearance in the MCU. James Gunn has confirmed his time with the MCU is done once Vol. 3 completes his trilogy, and fans wonder if this means the Guardians of the Galaxy will no longer appear in other Marvel Studios productions. Dave Bautista has already said he's done playing Drax the Destroyer, and other cast members seem hesitant to return without James Gunn at the helm.
So, seeing Gillan have fun while promoting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is heartwarming when fans know this might be her final outing as Nebula. With James Gunn saying Rocket Raccoon also has an important role, fans are bracing themselves for a heartwrenching finale. One of the Guardians of the Galaxy characters might die in Vol. 3, so lighthearted laughs like the kind provided by Gillan's Nebula poster are likely welcomed by concerned fans.
