Many of the developers behind the Payday series, now formed as 10 Chambers Collective, announced its new game currently in development, a "4-player hardcore co-op action horror FPS" called GTFO.

The title, clearly chosen to reflect the experience the developer is hoping fans will have: to "get the f— out" of the terrifying location the game places them. The trailer shows the horror elements as well as the heavy shooting action, as it shows the perspective of a team of well-armed players fighting through dark underground hallways against a relentless wave of monstrous creatures.

The tagline for the game is "Work together or die together," and from what was shown, the game appears to involve not only action-packed FPS shooting but also the ability to use gadgets like sentry turrets that can help teams of players fight against whatever the creatures are.

Simon Viklund from 10 Chambers Collective says the developers are looking to keep players in suspense:

“Every expedition in GTFO is unique and the game lets you make informed decisions on what equipment and weapons to bring - but even then survival is not guaranteed. GTFO throws so many curveballs and unknown factors at you that you and your team always have to stay on your toes - and the atmosphere is suffocatingly tense. It’s nerve wracking to play even for us developers! If you’re easily scared, wear your brown pants.”

From first glance it appears to have the co-op elements of games like Payday and Evolve, mixed with plenty of dark rooms and tight corridors for monsters to hide behind, looking to be taking inspiration from games like DOOM and Alien: Isolation. 10 Chambers Collective have yet to announce a release date but the official description gives a few more details:

GTFO is a terrifying 4 player co-op game for hardcore FPS players, brought to you by the game designer behind the Payday franchise. Players get to play as a team of scavengers, forced to explore and extract valuable artifacts from a vast underground complex that has been overrun by horrifying monsters. Gather weapons, tools and resources to help you survive - and work to unearth the answers about your past and how to escape. GTFO is set to be released 2018.

Those who like horror games, first-person shooters, and cooperative play may want to keep an eye on this new game.

GTFO will be released in 2018.
