Rockstar has released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, and players are jumping in to wreak havoc and enjoy the classic stories that originated way back from the PS2 days. While all three games in the trilogy --San Andreas, Vice City, and GTA 3-- have a new modernized redesign, many elements of the game remain the same, including the abundance of cheat codes that let players do all sorts of wild stuff, like summoning a rocket launcher or perhaps a helicopter. There are some GTA cheats that have been removed due to technical reasons, but most of them are still there.

However, for the trophy hunters and achievement seekers out there, they should know that using cheat codes in any of the three games in the GTA trilogy will impact trophy/achievement unlocks, and this guide will go over it all in more detail.

Do Cheat Codes Disable Trophies and Achievements in the GTA Trilogy?

As mentioned before, using cheat codes in the GTATrilogy will lock players out of unlocking certain trophies and achievements. So, if players are trying to get a few Platinum trophies or just trying to raise their Gamerscore, not using cheats will prevent them from missing out on any unlocks. However, players can ensure that cheats won't impact their trophy hunting by saving their game progress before trying them out. This way, GTA Trilogy players can go back to their previous save, as if the cheat codes were never used in the first place.

The game will also warn gamers about the use of cheat codes as soon as they are inputted into the menu of whichever GTA game they are playing.

GTA Trilogy - Are There Missable Trophies and Achievements?

GTA Trilogy players should know that many achievements and trophies can be missed across all three games. While players go through each story mission for the first time, there isn't a way to go back and replay them immediately, so some people might have to replay the entire game in order to collect specific trophies. And it's also worth noting that if GTA Trilogy players don't disable the trophies/achievements, then there is a slight chance that could disable getting 100%, preventing players from getting all trophies and achievements.

The GTA Trilogy Remaster is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
