When compared to some of the more modern GTA games, the number of vehicles available in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas might not seem all that impressive. For its era though, it was both a magnificent achievement and a huge step forward for the groundbreaking franchise. This dramatic increase in the total number of vehicles also led to more high-speed cars than ever before, which, as one might expect, came as great news for fans of fast driving.

Almost two decades later, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - Definitive Edition has brought the game to a brand new generation of players, allowing them to experience this classic title with a new coat of paint and a few major quality of life updates under the hood. A lot may have changed over the last seventeen years, but tracking down the fastest cars in San Andreas will no doubt remain a priority for many modern players, just as it was for the previous generation when the original game first hit shelves.

Updated March 21, 2022, by Tom Bowen: Following a controversial release that was marred by bugs and player complaints, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - Definitive Edition is slowly but surely beginning to live up to its name. Numerous patches and updates have been rolled out by Rockstar over the past few months, which together have helped to completely transform the game and clear up most of the visual bugs and glitches. There's still some work to be done for it to really be worthy of its "Definitive" label, but it's a huge stride in the right direction nonetheless. Like the game itself, this guide has been updated to include a few more of the fastest cars in GTA: San Andreas.

Blista Compact

The Blista Compact made its first appearance in GTA: Vice City, in which it also happens to be one of the game's fastest cars. Its design appears to have been based on the iconic Honda CR-X and hasn't changed much over the two decades or so since making its GTA debut. It's a deceptively fast ride, though far from the fastest car in GTA: San Andreas.

Where to Find a Blista Compactin GTA: San Andreas

Blista Compacts are most common in San Fierro, with players usually able to find one inside the fancy car showroom on the region's east coast. There's also a Blista Compact out on the tarmac near the perimeter fence at Easter Bay Airport, though stealing this one may raise the alarm with local authorities.

Feltzer

gta-san-andreas-export-list-1-feltzter

To many, the Feltzer is a staple of modern Grand Theft Auto games. Back when San Andreas was first released for the PS2 though, it was actually a brand-new car to the series. Based on the convertible form of a nineteen-eighties Mercedes-Benz SL, it's one of the most distinctive cars in the game and can be a lot of fun to drive thanks to its high top speed and buttery smooth controls.

Where to Find a Feltzer in GTA: San Andreas

Players can sometimes find the Feltzer in the underground parking lot of the Vank Hoff Hotel in San Fierro. For a guaranteed fixed spawn, however, they'll instead need to make their way out to a random motel parking lot in the southeastern part of Flint County, not far from the Back o' Beyond area.

ZR-350

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-zr-350

The ZR-350 is just one of many new vehicles that made its debut in San Andreas. Unlike some of the others though, it hasn't appeared too often in the years since, despite the fact that it is both one of the most popular and the fastest cars in GTA: San Andreas. Its design most closely resembles the FD3S Mazda RX-7, though it also shares some of its features with several other cars as well.

Where to Find a ZR-350 in GTA: San Andreas

Finding a ZR-350 is a relatively straightforward task, as they show up in each of the game's main areas. In particular, players should keep an eye out for them in affluent and commercial districts, where they are far more likely to spawn in. Players will also drive a modified ZR-350 during the "Farewell, My Love..." story mission and will be able to keep the vehicle after completing the mission.

Banshee

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-banshee

With Vice City having opted for a Corvette C4-inspired Banshee, San Andreas instead sees the car returning to its roots. As was the case in GTA 3, it's once again reminiscent of iconic cars like the Dodge Viper RT 10 and the Pontiac Firebird. One thing that doesn't change, however, is the car's rapid speed, with the Banshee among the fastest cars available for the third GTA game in a row.

Where to Find a Banshee in GTA: San Andreas

The Banshee is something of a fan-favorite among long-time GTA players due to it boasting three highly desirable qualities: it's fast, it looks good and it's relatively easy to find. San Andreas players can expect to see them in the Rodeo, Market, and Richman areas of Los Santos or driving around on the streets of Las Venturas.

Premier

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-premier

With its distinctive boxy design, the Premier looks a lot like a 1993-1994 Chevrolet Caprice. Given the era in which the game is set, this would make it one of the most modern vehicles on the streets of Los Santos, which would perhaps explain why there are so many of them driving around.

Where to Find a Premier in GTA: San Andreas

The Premier also serves as the base model for all of the taxis and police cruisers in San Andreas. As a result, players should have no trouble whatsoever finding one, particularly if they happen to be in San Fierro. It's not really a car that one should ever go out of one's way to look for, but, when in a pinch, it's a more than capable car when it comes to speed.

Buffalo

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-buffalo

The Buffalo is another vehicle that made its first appearance in San Andreas. The design of the ultra-fast muscle car borrows elements from several real-world vehicles, though most closely resembles that of a third-generation Chevrolet Camero. Like the Camero, the Buffalo boasts an impressive top speed and is very fast out of the blocks.

Where to Find a Buffalo in GTA: San Andreas

Despite being available for what is ultimately a fairly reasonable price of $28,000 from the import/export dock in San Fierro once one has been exported, the Buffalo is considered a high-end car. As such, players will need to visit affluent areas in order to find one driving around, such as the Rodeo, Richman, and Market regions of Los Santos.

Hotring Racer

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-hotring-racer

Having made its debut in the previous GTA title, the Hotring Racer returns for a second outing in Los Santos. There are once again three different versions of the car, which are again based on the Ford Thunderbird, the Chevrolet Cavalier and the Chevrolet Monte Carlo respectively. Though the designs remain almost the same in both games, the sponsors on the cars are different this time around.

Where to Find a Hotring Racer in GTA: San Andreas

The only way to legitimately find a Hotring Racer in San Andreas is to head over to the parking lot outside the Los Santos Forum in the southeast area of the city. It won't show up until after players have completed the 8-Track event though, meaning that players will need to wait until at least the second act of the game before they can get their hands on one. Alternatively, as is also the case in Vice City, players can simply use cheats to spawn one in.

Bullet

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-bullet

The Bullet doesn't have the same history as some of the other speedy vehicles in the Grand Theft Auto series, but it definitely has the horsepower to keep up. Its design is remarkably similar to the 2005-2006 Ford GT, which, given the game's 1992 setting, is seen by some as one of the rare era-related mistakes in the franchise. It could perhaps be argued that the Bullet is instead inspired by the GT40, though it's definitely a lot more reminiscent of the later model.

Where to Find a Bullet in GTA: San Andreas

Players can unlock a Bullet by being awarded silver medals in all of the driving tests at the Driving School in San Fierro. Alternatively, the car can be found driving around on The Strip in Las Venturas, or imported from the dock in Easter Basin after the third export list has been completed.

Super GT

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-super-gt

The Super GT is yet another vehicle that made its debut in San Andreas and can be found in both hard and targa top variants. Its design borrows heavily from those of a number of different vehicles, including the 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT, the Nissan 300 ZX Z32 and the 1993 Toyota Supra.

Where to Find a Super GT in GTA: San Andreas

Those wishing to track down a Super GT are going to have to have patience. Their spawns are pretty rare compared to some of the other fast cars in San Andreas, though with a little bit of luck, players shouldn't have to wait too long to find one. The Strip in Las Venturas is the best place to look, with the car far more likely to appear at night.

Cheetah

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-cheetah

Having claimed the silver medal in the two previous GTA games, the Cheetah falls a little further down the pecking order in San Andreas. Like its namesake though, it's still incredibly fast and so is definitely worth picking up if one happens to be driving by. The San Andreas iteration of the Cheetah is once again inspired by the Ferrari Testarossa, though this time it's the F512 TR model that lends its likeness to the car.

Where to Find a Cheetah in GTA: San Andreas

Those looking to get their hands on a Cheetah have a few different options available. They spawn most commonly in the Rodeo, Market, Paradiso, and Old Venturas areas and so these are by far the best places to look. Players can also import a Cheetah at the import/export dock in San Fierro once they've exported one, though it will cost them an eye-watering $84,000 to do so.

Turismo

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-turismo

Modeled after the iconic Ferrari F40, the Turismo falls agonizingly short of being the fastest car in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Its sleek, aerodynamic design helps it to reach top speeds well in excess of 200 km/h, which, in turn, allows it to leave pretty much every other car in the game trailing hopelessly behind in its dust.

Where to Find a Turismo in GTA: San Andreas

There are a few different places where players can find a Turismo, but perhaps the easiest is the Old Venturas Strip in Las Venturas. The car often spawns in on the strip during nighttime hours, so this is definitely the best time to look for one. They can also be imported from the dock in Easter Basin, though only on a Monday and only once players have completed the second export list.

Infernus

gta-san-andreas-fastest-cars-infernus

For the third game in a row, the Infernus is the fastest car around and is again able to boast top speeds of almost 250 km/h in San Andreas. This time around, however, its design most closely resembles those of both the first iteration of the Honda NSX and the original prototype for the Lamborghini Diablo.

Where to Find an Infernus in GTA: San Andreas

San Andreas is probably the easiest game for finding an Infernus, with the supercar showing up on the streets in various regions. These include, but are not limited to Downtown Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas. Once they've exported one from the dock in Easter Basin, players will also be able to import an Infernus for the princely sum of $76,000.
