Grand Theft Auto Online players have discovered a car with a license plate from Las Venturas, a city featured in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Released back in 2004, GTA: San Andreas was a very popular entry in the franchise and is fondly remembered by fans even today, which makes this a pretty nostalgic reference.

The newest GTA Online update was released a few days ago, and it promoted significant changes to Rockstar’s online title. Not only did the update introduce animals in Freemode, something that players have been wanting for over a decade, but also made some tweaks in the interface, introduced more vehicles, and added Drift Races.

Now, fans have spotted a reference to San Andreas in GTA Online, which can be found during the new car robbery missions. When stealing a Turismo Omaggion car in one of these missions, players can see the license plate from Las Venturas. The city of Las Venturas was featured in GTA: San Andreas and is greatly inspired by the real-world city of Las Vegas. It was the third and final city to appear in the game, and like Las Vegas, it was filled with several casinos and surrounded by a huge, explorable desert.

This cool reference can only be found in the new The Chop Shop missions, which can be unlocked after a player purchases a salvage yard called Red’s Auto Parts. These new GTA Online missions feature Yusuf Amir, a character who previously appeared in GTA 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony and now hires the player to steal luxury cars around Los Santos.

After GTA: San Andreas, Las Venturas has never been featured in games again. So, it’s likely that players will speculate on whether this reference means that it may appear again soon. Considering that GTA 6 will be set in Vice City and its surrounding area, though, that seems unlikely.

Another exciting change in the update is that GTA Online players can purchase police cars now. These vehicles can be purchased from Warstock Cache & Carry, which also offers a variety of military vehicles at various prices. However, before gamers can purchase these cars, which come in three different models and are priced between $3,600,000 and $4,000,000, they need to complete a few challenges. Each car comes with its own challenge, and someone who wants to purchase the Stanier LE Cruiser, for example, must survive a 3-star Wanted Level or above for 5 minutes to gain access to the vehicle.
