With the release of The Los Santos Tuners expansion, GTA Online has received its next major upgrade that introduces the LS Car Meet; a massive shared social space where drivers and their prized personal vehicles can mingle freely with fellow car fans and race throughout the Los Santos underground, or even link up with shady contacts seeking skilled racers for a chance at easy money.

First, gamers must launch the game with the most recent GTA Online update installed to access the new content; then, after roaming for a while, a phone call will be received directing players to a Los Santos Car Meet down in Cypress Flats. Upon arrival at the "LS" icon, a cutscene will trigger introducing a woman named Mimi, who will later appear as an "i" icon on the map. She declares that a one-time $50,000 payment must be paid to obtain membership in the club.

With the membership secured, Mimi will provide a range of races for gamers to participate in to help develop their reputation. As their reputation grows, racers will not only be able to pay the Trade Price for the new vehicles in the Los Santos Tuners update but also get access to additional tuner club-themed merchandise. The best way to increase reputation in GTA Online is by winning races, doing laps on the test track, and hanging out at car meets.

Furthermore, players may also chat to the race organizer in the upper left corner of the Car Meet garage to begin racing, or for some of KDJ and Sessanta's action-packed assignments, an auto shop will be required to serve as a base of operations, which are available in Maze Bank Foreclosures. These riskier missions need considerable planning as each operation comes with two small setup tasks in free roam, although the payout can be worthwhile if done successfully.

Whilst a majority of the new content is centered on the new LS Car Meet, there are several new race series now available outside of the GTA underground car scene:

  • Pursuit Series: Checkpoints are well spaced, allowing for custom routes to beat the competition.
  • Street Races Series: Creative race tracks set in the neighborhoods of Los Santos.
  • Sprint: This one technically starts at the Car Meet but offers a 'point to point challenge in Freemode' with up to three other drivers.

But no GTA Online update would be complete without new rides. Hence, as an accompaniment to all of the new features, this update brings 10 of the 17 cars that will be added throughout the course of the summer, varying from imported Dinka vehicles to full Vapid muscle.

GTA Online is available on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.
