A Grand Theft Auto Online player, going by Kat Chartreux, has brought Barbie into the game through the character creator with very accurate results. With the new Barbie movie releasing this month, it seems like the titular doll is everywhere. Experiencing a resurgence of popularity, the iconic character is being pulled into various settings by fans. For example, a player created the Barbie dream house in The Sims 4, and similar projects have been undertaken by other fans in other games.
Grand Theft Auto Online might not seem like the most appropriate title for a Barbie cross-over. Its hyper-violence and cynicism doesn't exactly mesh well with the lightheartedness and positivity of the children's toy. Still, the action game does offer a myriad of customization options that have allowed players to design all sorts of characters over the years. Now, one player has taken advantage of this to bring the unlikely protagonist to San Andreas.
Kat Chartreux, a YouTuber who specializes in creating interesting characters in various games, has recently completed a Barbie character for Grand Theft Auto Online and is showing off the results on their channel. Chartreux took advantage of the face designing tools as well as different clothing options to develop an impressive recreation of Barbie in the game. Fitting for Barbie, the character sports an all-pink aesthetic, including a cowboy hat and high heels. Somehow, the complete package seems to work, giving fans a "San Andreas Barbie" who's fit for robbing banks engaging in shootouts in style.
As a bonus, Chartreux includes in her video the instructions for recreating their work. From the right selections for her face to all the pieces of clothing and accessories, any player can now explore the world of Grand Theft Auto Online as Barbie. It may not be as darkly ridiculous as Barbie joining Oppenheimer through fan art, but Barbie in a crime game is still pretty awesome, and some gamers surely want to follow the guide to see it for themselves.
