Every Thursday, Grand Theft Auto Online releases its weekly sales and bonuses for a specific activity, like racing or deathmatches. This week, however, players will be able to make a lot more money from Grand Theft Auto Online's Cayo Perico Heist.

The Cayo Perico Heist was added to Grand Theft Auto Online in December 2020, and let players travel to an all-new Colombian island where players are able to rob a member of the Madrazo Cartel, El Rubio. The Cayo Perico Heist was a big draw for the title and led to December being the most profitable month ever for Grand Theft Auto Online.

The Cayo Perico Heist is also the most profitable activity for players as well. After a first completion, running through the Cayo Perico Heist can net from $900,000 to $1.3 million depending on what item spawns in the vault for players to steal. For the next week, however, players re-running the Cayo Perico Heist will be able to make a whopping $1.9 million from stealing the new golden panther statue. With how fast some Grand Theft Auto Online players can complete the heist, it should be a rather easy payout for any players that are familiar with the Cayo Perico Heist.

The golden panther statue first surfaced from data miners, who found evidence of it shortly after the Cayo Perico Heist released. But it has never been available, until now. If players have not completed the Cayo Perio Heist before, they will have to complete it twice to get the statue. The first run of the job will see players stealing the Madrazo Files that tie into the update's story, while the second run-through will give players the golden statue. For any players that don't quite have the time to run the heist this week, as long as they can get through the early intel stage of the heist, completing it after this week should still reward the statue, although, again, the Cayo Perico Heist has to be completed at least once before.

The new approach to a limited-time deal in Grand Theft Auto Online that developer Rockstar Games is trying this week is great to see. Having a different reward for players to pursue for a limited time is a cool way to move players towards playing activities that they may not otherwise. It would be great to see Grand Theft Auto continue to release timed events that encourage player interactivity. Hopefully, the future will bring more cool limited events to Grand Theft Auto Online.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
