The Vinewood Casino in Grand Theft Auto Online has had an "opening soon" sign displayed on it since the online multiplayer action-adventure game launched back in 2013, and following recent teases and data mines on the matter, it seems that the casino is now set to open soon. GTA Online is finally getting a casino, and thanks to a new trailer, we know that it will open on July 23, 2019.

Dubbed the Grand Theft Auto Online Diamond Casino and Resort update, players will be able to use chips to play blackjack, roulette, three card poker, and slot machines once the update goes live. However, basic casino activities are not all that are offered as part of this update. There will be virtual horse races players can watch, and there is a Lucky Wheel that players can spin to win clothing, cash chips, or the special Truffade Thrax Supercar.

This supercar will only be available during the casino's opening week, as there are plans to rotate the car prize every week. There is also a casino store where players can purchase clothing and accessories with their earnings, and the casino has a Master Penthouse that can be customized with new floorplans, a spa, a bar, and tons more. Owning the Penthouse in Grand Theft Auto Online will also grant players VIP Membership and access to VIP lounges, high-limit tables, mobile services, and far more.

Furthermore, ownership of the Master Penthouse will unlock a number of co-op missions where Grand Theft Auto Online players have to help the Casino owner Tao Cheng. These missions will offer special awards, and beating the whole campaign will unlock a brand-new car as well.

In other words, this is a substantial update that has been a long time coming, and it doesn't seem geared to disappoint. Hopefully, it's enough to bring back any players who have left the world of Grand Theft Auto Online, especially since the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date is, as many analysts and gamers believe, a long ways off.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One as part of Grand Theft Auto 5.
