The newest update for Obsidian's survival RPG Grounded is out now. There are quite a few important changes and additions to update 0.8.0 of Grounded, but chief among them may be the incorporation of photo mode.

Grounded has continued to grow in popularity, and the new updates and content certainly help. Whether it be updates that add firefly enemies or new biomes to explore, the Xbox Game Pass title is seeing ongoing support from Obsidian, and the newest example is the update that went live today.

The biggest new feature of the game is the photo mode. With the game being based on the idea of being a backyard survival game, it will be exciting to see players take pictures of giant koi fish, spiders, bees, mosquitos, and more in Grounded. Some of the best photo mode games allow players to snap images of sprawling vistas, but Grounded has the opportunity to allow mini-photographers to show their nature photo skills in very up close and interesting ways.

The 0.8.0 update also comes with a few pieces of crafting content, including a door frame and both a Triangular Stem Wall and an Inverted Triangular Stem Wall. The update also sees many other features, general changes and tuning, quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and more.

The updates to Grounded are designed to continue to improve upon the game. Obsidian's survival title is still in Game Preview, so there are plenty of aspects of the game that are being worked on. Photo mode is just one element of the game that adds value to it as a product, and something that fans will likely appreciate.

Grounded is out now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
