In Grounded, the new survival game currently in early access for Xbox Game Pass members, players will have to battle, build, repair, and upgrade to survive. In order to upgrade all the tools in Grounded and the armor, players will need various plants and bugs, like the grubs.

Grubs, Grub Goop, and Grub Hides

Grub hide is needed to make various armor to help the team survive all the bug attacks. With grub goop and grub hides, players can make the grub vest, grub leggings, grub goggles, mite hats, larva blades, smoothie station, canteens, and the upgraded canteen+. The canteens are incredibly important to keep hydrated while out and about, hunting new bugs or hunting for berries to make berry leather in Grounded.

How to Find Grubs

Grubs are burrowers, and can only be found below the dirt around the Acorn Tree. While hanging out near the tree, Grounded players can collect sap and acorn bits for crafting too. Grubs will sometimes hide below acorns, under roots, and in other dark areas. They like mud, and players will have to keep an eye out for wiggling mud and dirt to hint at where they could be hiding, however, they are gross, white, and wiggly.

Needed Tools

In order to harvest the grubs, players will need to craft some tools in Grounded first. Players will need to craft a shovel to make sure they can dig out the grubs from their hiding places. Players will most likely want a hammer as well to break acorns in case there are grubs hiding underneath. Kill the grub and then harvest the hide and goop with any chopping tool.

There are some incredibly scary and dangerous critters in Grounded so players also want to make sure to bring along weapons, armor, and other protections to ensure they survive any encounters on their way to the Acorn Tree.

Keep in mind that Grounded is currently in early access for Xbox Game Pass and isn't finished. There will be some changes coming to the game before its true release in 2021.
