Of the many impressive titles featured during the Xbox Series X event, many in the gaming community were left excited by Grounded, a survival game being developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The gaming community has known about Grounded since November of 2019, but the Xbox Series X event gave a much more detailed and articulate look at the game. Now, players will have the chance to experience Obsidian Entertainment's newest title.

Obsidian Entertainment is known for quite a lot of beloved titles within the gaming community. Over the past seventeen years, the development team over at Obsidian Entertainment have produced numerous well-received, yet underappreciated games, such as Fallout: New Vegas, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and The Outer Worlds. With so many consistently good titles, many fans of the company are looking forward to the company's newest games.

While the official release of the game is slated for much later in 2021, as of today, Xbox Game Pass users can now experience Grounded in Early Access. Now, because the game is being released in Early Access, the quality of the game will likely not reflect the final product released in 2021, but regardless, players will be able to experience what Grounded has to offer firsthand.

Having said that, based on what was shown and based on the early reactions of users playing the Early Access version of the game, there is a lot that Grounded has to offer and a lot more content that has yet to be shown. Especially considering the rumors that Grounded will feature a darker, more sinister tone in contrast to what has largely been shown through trailers and gameplay.

Based on what Obsidian Entertainment has developed in the past, Grounded appears to be quite the departure from Obisidian's RPG traditions. Whether the developers of the game will manage to deliver a fun and compelling experience remains to be seen given how different Grounded is from any other game the studio has developed.

In addition to Grounded, Obsidian Entertainment is also putting out an open-world RPG called Avowed. This game appears to be the polar opposite of the futuristic sci-fi setting of The Outer Worlds, with Avowed taking place in a fantasy setting with a large, expansive map to explore and discover. Hopefully, the developers will manage to give players a lot to look forward to in terms of both of these games.

Grounded is set to launch in 2021 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Early Access is available now for Game Pass subscribers.
