The Marvel Ultimate Alliance games have been going steady since 2006. With two games released in quick succession, fans were confused when a third game was not announced straight after number two. However, Nintendo finally released Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order for the Switch in 2019 and promptly got gamers talking about the series again. The thrill of this series is that it lets players assemble a team of four Marvel heroes and take them to many levels based on locations from the comics.

Prototype For Canceled Daredevil Game Emerges Online

While Spider-Man 2 fans speculate about potential Daredevil DLC, a prototype of a canceled game starring the man without fear emerges online.

Although the first three games have done a great job of exploring the Marvel universe, there are still some characters yet to appear in the franchise. For the games to really encapsulate everything about Marvel Comics, they must think about giving some of their other great characters an appearance.

8 Hulkling

Hulkling is a firm member of the Young Avengers team in the comics, While his name and green skin would have readers assume he is part of the Hulk family, he is not related to The Hulk character in any way. Instead, Hulking is half-Kree and half-Skrull, being the son of the original Captain Marvel.

His Skrull heritage gives Hulkling the power to shape-shift, while his Kree blood makes him heal at an accelerated rate. This power set is unique to any other character in the Ultimate Alliance series, and a shape-shifter on the side of good could be a fun addition to any player's team.

7 Devil Dinosaur

If the Ultimate Alliance series is ready to explore the Multiverse, then it would be a perfect chance to introduce gamers to Devil Dinosaur. Hailing from an alternate dimension, this bright red dinosaur is an anti-hero in a realm known as Dinosaur World.

When escaping the tribe known as the Killer-Folk, Devil Dinosaur was exposed to a fire that mutated the character and gave him super-human (super-dinosaur?) intelligence, strength, and durability. It may be a bit of a stretch to think that Devil Dinosaur will ever be included in the franchise as a playable character, but he would make for a cool boss fight, similar to Fing Fang Foom or Galactus.

6 Angel

• Debut: X-Men #1 (1963)
• Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

A lot of X-Men characters got the spotlight thrust on them during the X-Men Legends series of games that came before Marvel Ultimate Alliance. However, any of the more famous mutants have already made an appearance in the Ultimate Alliance franchise, which includes all Marvel characters and not just mutants. Players have seen the likes of Wolverine, Cyclops, Magneto, Deadpool, and the Juggernaut in the series, but no Angel. As one of the founding members of the team, it would make sense to include the winged hero at some point.

Despite Marvel's favorite X-Men member, Wolverine, featuring as more of a loner, he's built up some great friendships over the years.

Angel has also had a troubled history in the comics. He is naturally a hero, but his turn as one of the Four Horsemen turned him into the dangerous Archangel. This means that Angel could work as both a hero or boss battle in the series.

5 Stature

The character of Stature has exploded in popularity recently, thanks to her starring role in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantummania. While Stature may be a legacy character, as the daughter of the second Ant-Man, Scott Lang, she is still a vital member of the Ant-Man family and The Young Avengers.

Both her parents made an appearance in Ultimate Alliance 3, so it wouldn't be a stretch to include Stature in the series in the future. Her ability to grow and shrink at will can make for a fascinating moveset, or even a fun background cameo would be a good nod to the character's legacy.

4 Quicksilver

The fact that Quicksilver has been both part of the X-Men and the Avengers in the past makes his absence from the Ultimate Alliance games even more baffling. The character has appeared twice in live-action, in both movie franchises, so why is the son of Magneto not in any of these games? Even his sister was included as a playable character in Ultimate Alliance3.

The obvious problem with Quicksilver is that his powers of super-speed make him too powerful for a playable character. While that may be true, it still doesn't explain why Quicksilver can't appear as an NPC or boss fight. Let's hope the character can receive some more attention in the future.

3 Squirrel Girl

Squirrel Girl is possibly one of the strangest characters to ever appear in the Marvel universe. As her name suggests, her powers include the ability to talk to and control all nearby squirrels. Despite the silly nature of her skill set, Squirrel Girl is an extremely powerful hero who has even taken out Thanos by herself in the past.

Marvel's Avengers could do better by dropping the console exclusive Spider-Man DLC for another superhero that has recently gained notoriety.

The inclusion of Squirrel Girl in any game is always going to be a nice nod to Marvel fans, but actually playing as the character in an Ultimate Alliance game would provide players with a truly unique experience. However, it could be hard to animate and would include hundreds of tiny squirrels for the sake of one optional character.

2 Carnage

• Debut: The Amazing Spider-man #361 (1992)
• Created by David Michelinie and Mark Bagley

When Venom first debuted as a Spider-Man villain in '91, it made sense that more similar characters would begin to pop up in the comics. That is why Carnage soon appeared as Venom's offspring that attached itself to a sadistic serial killer known as Cletus Cassidy. Carnage is wildly unpredictable and is often used as the one threat that can force Spider-Man and Venom to team up.

Since the last two Ultimate Alliance games have allowed players to use both Spider-Man and Venom on the same team, it seems strange that Carnage has yet to make an appearance. The character may be considered too dark for a series like this, but Carnage has been included in LEGO games before. This villain deserves the spotlight in the Ultimate Alliance series soon.

1 War Machine

• Debut: Iron Man #118 (1978)
• Created by David Michelinie, John Byrne, and Bob Layton

War Machine has long been Iron Man's faithful partner. Colonel James Rhodes once took one of his friend's suits to assist Tony Stark, and has held onto the mantle of War Machine ever since. The Iron Man suit worn by Rhodes is much more military-focused than the other worn by Stark. It was even included as an optional skin for Iron Man in the first Ultimate Alliance game; however, that was Tony Stark operating the suit and not James Rhodes.

The character of Rhodey as War Machine has become a huge presence in pop culture since he was one of the earliest established characters in the MCU. That made it all the more surprising when the character didn't show up as part of Ultimate Alliance 3. It may be because having two Iron Mans isn't all that exciting, but there are multiple Spider-Men in that game. As such, new games in the franchise should include a proper version of War Machine.
