The new Grand Theft Auto Online update introduced a series of car robbery missions called The Chop Shop and brought back GTA 4’s real estate mogul Yusuf Amir as part of them. The recent Grand Theft Auto Online update improved the game in several small ways, added more content, and allowed GTA+ subscribers to access a new garage, but The Chop Shop missions stand out as being one of its most interesting introductions.
GTA Online’s most recent update was first announced a few weeks ago. The update was pretty significant, as it introduced animals in freemode for the first time. It also added new cars, Drift Races, and drift modifications for some vehicles.
Grand Theft Auto Online Player Creates Barbie in the Game
A Grand Theft Auto Online player brings Barbie into San Andreas through the character creation screen and some clever clothing options.
Now, Grand Theft Auto Online gamers are able to play The Chop Shop missions, in which they’ll steal rare vehicles across Los Santos. The most important character in the update is Yusuf Amir, who first appeared in GTA 4’s DLC The Ballad of Gay Tony around 14 years ago. After the events that happened in the previous game, Yusuf has decided to leave Liberty City and continue his career as a real estate developer in Los Santos. Now he's hired the player to steal luxury cars for him alongside his cousin Jamal. To access The Chop Shop missions and meet Yusuf, players need to purchase Red’s Auto Parts salvage yard.
The current update is the last time that GTA Online will receive new content in 2023, but it’s essentially guaranteed that the game will continue to be supported in 2024. While no specific information has been unveiled about what is coming up in the next year, Rockstar is sure to give enough content to keep its fan base occupied while players wait for GTA 6’s release.
While GTA Online is certain to have a 2024 packed with updates, its long-term future remains uncertain. GTA 6 is coming up in 2025, and it will likely have its own online mode. At the moment, it’s not yet clear how Rockstar intends to transition between the current version of GTA Online, which is already widely popular and profitable, and the next current-gen iteration of the franchise. It’s likely that the focus will shift to the new version, but whether GTA Online will be discontinued or not is still a mystery.

Players can create their own characters and embark on various missions and heists throughout San Andreas and the surrounding area.
