Grand Theft Auto Online is getting on in years, but support for the game has yet to stop. Just yesterday, on April 6th, a new update was added which reintroduces the Peyote plant to Los Santos, allowing players to transform themselves into an animal for a time.

The last time the Peyote plant was brought into Grand Theft Auto Online was last October as a sort of surprise halloween event. Its unclear why the plant is making a return now of all times, but it provides some wacky fun nonetheless. But how does one find and use these Peyote plants to turn into an animal?

There are 76 Peyote plants spread across the map of Grand Theft Auto Online, and if the player manages to find and eat one, they will be transformed into an animal. The transformation lasts until the player dies, and the resulting animal is chosen at random upon consuming the plant.

Finding the Peyote plant shouldn't be too difficult, as there are quite a lot of them and they are found throughout the entire city. Should players have difficulty though, the above map will certainly prove useful. Furthermore, the controller will actually begin to vibrate when near a Peyote plant, getting stronger as the player gets closer. This tip is extremely helpful when one is near a plant but can't quite pinpoint its exact location. Upon finding the Peyote, which appears as a small green plant with white flowers, it can be eaten by pressing right on the D-Pad.

This will begin the transformation into animal form, and an animal noise will sound hinting at which animal the player will spawn as. What makes this content truly unique is that each animal has its own set of control schemes, so it is important to pay attention to the tutorial in the upper left hand corner of the screen when causing mayhem as one of GTA: Online's many animals. Also, despite being referred to as a hallucination, other players can see and interact with animal forms, meaning they must be something more.

That's about all there is to it, though. Find the plants using the map and controller vibrations, press right on the D-Pad to consume it, and then have fun playing a random animal. The possibilities are rather vast as well, including dogs, warthogs, deer, and even whales, so the new update is certainly not lacking in replayability.
