Grand Theft Auto Online comes to next-generation consoles later this year, bringing exclusive new content to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. This new content ties into the game’s upcoming Los Santos Tuners update on July 20th.

PS5 and Series X/S users will have access to exclusive vehicle upgrades once Grand Theft Auto Online arrives on those platforms. Rockstar states the enhancements will include but are not limited to speed boosts and are unique to specific vehicles.

As stated above, the exclusive content ties into the upcoming Los Santos Tuners update for GTA Online. The expansion focuses on the city’s underground vehicle modification and racing scene. Starting July 20th, players can show off and race their custom rides at the Los Santos Car Meet in Cypress Flats. The focus of Los Santos Tuners is on car culture over combat. Rockstar explains that the club runs on a “good vibes only policy.” That means players won’t attract attention from the cops but will need to leave their weapons and weaponized vehicles at the door. The new content is primarily for players that are more into GTA’s cars than carnage.

This focus includes several new ranked races and a Test Track where players can push their cars to their limits. On the Test Track, players can race one-on-one, against three other players, or against the clock. Notably, Test Track races have collisions disabled. That way, they are pure tests of driving skill rather than gladiatorial car combat. Members can also participate in Street Races and Pursuits. The latter is an open-ended race with checkpoints scattered throughout the city. Unlike Test Track races, however, Street Race and Pursuit players aren’t immune to the law or the threat of other GTA Online players.

Players will be able to unlock new upgrades and customization by gaining Reputation. They can increase their Reputation by hanging out at the Car Meet, driving the Test Track, and winning races. Players can then spend their Reputation on vehicle upgrades, exclusive races, better Trade Prices, and the option to host private Car Meets.

The overwhelming majority of this new content is available to all players starting Tuesday, July 20th. However, next-gen console owners still have exclusive GTA Online content to look forward to, though Rockstar hasn’t given specific details. It also appears that PC players will not have access to the next-gen content, though that may be subject to changes or clarifications.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are available until December 16th, while PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are currently in development. The Los Santos Tuners update launches on July 20th.
