Developer Rockstar Games puts out a brand new gameplay trailer in order to promote the forthcoming release of Grand Theft Auto Online's next expansion.
Hot on the heels of the announcement from Take-Two Interactive's CEO Strauss Zelnick that Grand Theft Auto Online would eventually need some franchise rest, the developers at Rockstar Games have put out a gameplay trailer for the next expansion in GTA 5's multiplayer component dubbed "Further Adventures in Finance and Felony." Calling it "one of Grand Theft Auto Online's biggest and deepest updates yet," Rockstar is set to release the massive update next Tuesday, June 7.
Building upon previous GTA Online add-ons such as the Executives and Other Criminals update, which came out in 2015, Further Adventures in Finance and Felony is prepared to give players the opportunity to expand their characters' mafia-esque networks and become the CEO of what the developer is describing as a "Criminal Enterprise." Bearing this in mind, fans taking part in the latest update for the game's online mode will be able to buy a high-rise office and warehouses so as to store and sell illegally imported and exported goods.
As seen in the trailer below, the forthcoming update for Grand Theft Auto Online will not only have players disrupting other criminal clans who are trying to compete in the exact same business of moving illicit items, but fans will also be acquiring a slew of new cars such as the Pegassi Reaper. Plus, Rockstar boasts that Further Adventures in Finance and Felony will contain fresh VIP Jobs, challenges, and much more.

Of course, as Rockstar initially implemented with Grand Theft Auto Online's addition of Freemode Events, next week's update will only be available to players who own the game on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Taking that into consideration, this should be a wake up call to those stuck in the last-gen cycle to upgrade as soon as possible, for practically every other studio on the planet has almost completely shifted away from developing for PS3 and Xbox 360.
In any event, although Rockstar's parent company of Take-Two has stated that support for Grand Theft Auto Online won't be around forever, with the forthcoming expansion dropping in the next several days, it seems as if the mode isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Plus, since the multiplayer feature has generated over half a billion dollars in revenue, it would be strange for developers to kill the GTA Online cash cow before it has a chance to double those figures.
