Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally bringing the franchise back to the notorious Vice City. Inspired by real-life Miami, Vice City has gained an unsavory reputation in the Rockstar franchise, and GTA 6 sets out to showcase the city in all its crime-riddled glory. Based on the trailers alone, GTA 6 looks to be a pedal-to-the-metal exploration of criminal hubris and hedonism.

The return to Vice City is exciting enough, but the setting itself presents plenty of chances to bring back some familiar faces from the franchise. Despite GTA 6's notorious leaks, there still isn't much known about the game's overall story and how previous franchise favorite characters could play a role. However, with Vice City being a crime magnet, this setting could be teasing major cameos.

The protagonist dynamic of Grand Theft Auto 6 will be quite different to GTA 5, but the upcoming game can still reuse one great narrative element.

Characters Who Could Play a Role in GTA 6's Story

Tommy Vercetti

Tommy Vercetti is the most obvious possibility at this point. Although Vercetti would now be in his mid-70s by the time GTA 6 takes place, it's highly possible that the character has built an impressive crime empire through the years that could be one of the biggest organizations in Vice City. The legacy of Tommy Vercetti in Vice City can't just be swept aside, so it's likely that he will be acknowledged in some capacity.

There are even eagle-eyed fans who believe Tommy Vercetti's mansion is featured in the background of GTA 6's trailer. If this is the case, he could easily still be living there, or a potential heir to his empire could have taken over the mansion. Either way, Tommy Vercetti is important to the fabric of Vice City, and that can't be ignored.

Ken Rosenberg

Appearing in both Vice City and San Andreas, Ken Rosenberg is the memorable anxiety-filled lawyer who had an appetite for cocaine. As Tommy Vercetti's lawyer in the 80s, Rosenberg's anxiety issues and cocaine habits made him a messy, but compelling character. His law practice was based in Vice City, which led him to be entangled with some of the most notorious mobs, like the Forelli Crime Family. After the events of Vice City and San Andreas, it's possible that Rosenberg could have returned to his old stomping grounds, even if his friendship with Tommy crumbled.

Ken Rosenberg goes to rehab in San Andreas , but eventually relapses, meaning he could find himself in unsavory company again in Vice City.

Love Fist

The GTA franchise and music go hand-in-hand. Music is one of the most brilliant ways Rockstar brings GTA to life, and one of the most memorable features of Vice City was the fictional band Love Fist. The hair metal band is basically GTA's version of Motley Crue, and they have continued to be mentioned in GTA games ever since Vice City. By now, the members Jezz, Willy, Dick, and Percy would be much older, and seeing the band now as washed-up rock stars past their prime could be a hilarious angle.

Cameos from GTA 5 Characters

Although it's more likely that staple Vice City characters will make an appearance, there is still the chance for GTA 5's protagonists to make a cameo. Since the game's story is a big mystery, there's no telling who Vice City could attract, and it would be easy to imagine Michael or Franklin traveling to the location for business.

Franklin Clinton now works with Lamar for LD Organics, a marijuana business that could potentially send him to Vice City for meetings.

As the wait for GTA 6 continues, there is nothing but speculation at this point, but it would be shocking if notable faces didn't show up at some point in the game. These characters may not play a major role in the story, and although that could be disappointing, it would be exciting to see them in at least some fashion. GTA has a long history, and revisiting the setting of Vice City is filled with potential surprises.
