According to one purported leak, the Grand Theft Auto 6 announcement trailer will show protagonist Lucia in prison, among a plethora of other details. It is not said when this Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer will come, but it stands to reason that, if someone supposedly has concrete info on it, it could be relatively soon. Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive has an earnings call scheduled for February 6, so it wouldn't be surprising if it came before then.Of course, this is all on the heels on a rather surprising time for Grand Theft Auto 6. Slowing down development on GTA Online, Red Dead Online, and so on, Rockstar has been shifting resources toward GTA 6 development. It confirmed as much, as well as the development of the game, last year. Not long after that, however, early footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leaked online, confirming a few details about the game. The biggest was perhaps the confirmed return to Vice City, as well as the name of one of the protagonists: Lucia.RELATED: Goat Simulator 3 Ad Includes Leaked GTA 6 GameplayPrior to this leak, a YouTuber known as SanInPlay had said that the protagonist's name was Lucia and that she was Latina, lining up perfectly with what leaked later. That lends some credence to SanInPlay's recent claims regarding the GTA 6 announcement trailer, as reported first by Dexerto. The details are short and sweet, but SanInPlay claims players will get a look at the GTA 6 setting, with a plane passing overhead, a lizard crossing a street (with SanInPlay previously claiming lizards were everywhere in the city), dogs playing, and one dog rolling around on an ocean beach. This description certainly sounds like Vice City.

Perhaps the most interesting detail though is that the trailer will supposedly show GTA 6 protagonist Lucia exercising in prison, suggesting the game potentially starts there. It's hard to say for sure, and of course, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt until either shown off/confirmed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two. There is certainly reason to believe SanInPlay, but there is also plenty of reason to be skeptical of such a claim.

If anything, whenever the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer does release, it might be a good point of reference for SanInPlay's credibility from then on. Getting Lucia's name right is huge, there's no denying that, but getting a few trailer details right too would suggest more should listen to SanInPlay, at least those interested in keeping up with leaks. But, until then, fans should file this away as a rumor and treat it as such.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development.
