The crew of the Grandcypher isn't just limited to the Captain and his starting comrades. There's an entire cast of characters to unlock in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, though it'll take a while before players can meet everyone else thanks to the need for Crewmate Cards.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink Review

Granblue Fantasy: Relink weaves detailed co-op, action, and RPG experiences together, even if it takes a while for all of them to open up.

All Granblue Fantasy: Relink characters outside the original crew must be unlocked by spending Crewmate Cards, a special type of currency that players will encounter very rarely throughout their journey across the skies. If you're itching to expand your roster of playable characters, here's how you can get more of these cards.

After beating the boss and finishing the cinematic sequence in Chapter 3, players will find themselves back in Folca. After you speak with the crew, head outside and talk to Siero, the Harvin owner of the Knickknack Shack.

Here, she'll give you your first Crewmate Card for free under the pretense of helping you find more people as you blaze through the game's chapters. You'll also be unlocking new characters from Siero's Knickknack Shack as well.

How to Get More Crewmate Cards

Once you get your first card, you can earn more by completing pivotal parts of the story and finishing optional Quest Counter jobs. Specifically, here are the story milestones you need to achieve and optional quests you need to beat:

  • Chapter 4 (First Crewmate Card mentioned above)
  • Chapter 6
  • Chapter 8
  • Chapter 0
  • Saga Grande: The Beginning
  • The Saga Continues: Ice
  • The Saga Continues: Fire
  • Hide and Chic
  • Wings of Antiquity
  • No One Likes Leftovers
  • License To Thrill Rank-Up Quest

To get the final Crewmate Card, you need to play online and finish Quick Quests, the game's take on co-op matchmaking. Help other Skyfarers with their quests to get Gold Dalia Badges, and once you get seven of them, trade the badges to Siero to get the last card. Every three Quick Quests will give you one badge, so be ready to grind.

Getting all Granblue Fantasy: Relink characters requires finishing the entire game and unlocking Extreme difficulty for optional quests. Since cards are given relatively sparingly, you'll need to be wise when unlocking new crewmates, as you'll likely be stuck with whoever you choose until your next card unlocks.

There are 12 unlockable characters in Granblue Fantasy: Relink as of launch, and thus, only 12 Crewmate Cards are available. However, Cygames confirmed that two new characters, Seofon and Tweyen, will be coming to the game on April 2024 as part of a free update. It's unknown if they will also require Crewmate Cards, but the devs confirmed that both characters will be unlocked by meeting in-game conditions.
