Like most other modern video games, Gran Turismo 7 rewards those who book their ticket early, with several unique cars and a healthy supply of credits available to those who pre-ordered the game ahead of launch. Likewise, anyone who splashed out a little extra for the game's 25th Anniversary Edition will also get these bonuses, as well as a couple of additional ones and a boatload more credits.

While pre-order and special edition bonuses are great and all though, figuring out how to actually redeem them isn't always easy, and, at first glance, that's once again the case with Gran Turismo 7. When players first boot up the game they'll be thrown into the Music Rally game mode, in which they won't even be able to change their vehicles, let alone redeem new ones. Thankfully, however, downloading pre-order cars in GT7 does end up being fairly straightforward, as those who read on will soon find out.

How to Download Special Edition & Pre-Order Bonuses in Gran Turismo 7

Before players can claim their bonuses, they'll first need to complete the "Hooked on Classics Parts 1 and 2" challenge in the Music Rally mode. After doing so, they'll be able to select the "Begin" option by moving the cursor to the white box in the top right-hand corner of the screen. From here, they should choose "World Map" and then select a nickname and a difficulty setting. What follows is an unskippable eight-minute cutscene, which, while certainly very pretty, can be incredibly frustrating for those who just want to get on with the game.

Eventually, though, the introductory cutscene will finally end, and the screen will slowly fade to black. Once it does, players will begin to receive onscreen notifications letting them know that their vehicles have been sent to their garage. Observant players may notice that their credits aren't added at this point, but there's no need to panic just yet, as any bonus credits will be added to the player's balance immediately after they purchase their first car.

Bonus cars are treated like any other vehicles in Gran Turismo 7, meaning they'll be sent straight to the player's garage. After buying their first car, players will be able to visit the garage by selecting the appropriate icon from the world map screen. They should then select the "Change Car" option and pick the bonus car that they'd like to drive. They're all much faster than the game's early-stage vehicles, though, sadly, most cannot be used in the majority of races and events found early on in the game as they're not classed as road cars.

Those who pre-ordered the standard version of Gran Turismo 7 will receive a Toyota Castrol TOM’S Supra, a Mazda RX-VISION GT3 Concept (Stealth), a Porsche 917K Living Legend, and 100,000 credits. Players who splashed out for the 25th Anniversary Edition will get the three aforementioned vehicles too, but they'll also get a country-specific Toyota GR Yaris. In addition to this, their bonus credits will be significantly higher, with the 25th Anniversary Edition providing players with a cool 1.1 million credits.

Gran Turismo 7 is available now on PS4 and PS5.
