In March 2021, the highly anticipated Warner Bros. Montreal game Gotham Knights was officially delayed into 2022. Fans are hoping that the additional time will allow Gotham Knights, which features cooperative multiplayer with DC Comic characters including Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood, to grow into something truly special. A new leak may show that DC Comics is certainly taking Gotham Knights seriously, with evidence that a tie-in comic is being made by one of the comic company's most popular creative teams. The leak comes directly from the source, with DC Comics artist Greg Capullo sharing some information that probably wasn't supposed to be shared just yet. Capullo, known for his iconic work on Spawn and Batman, shared a now-deleted Twitter message saying, "I know it seems like I'm not. But, trust me. I am working!" along with a piece of art. The piece in question features Nightwing, Batgirl, and another figure behind them. The suits the two are wearing are recognizable from Gotham Knights.RELATED: Gotham Knights Still on Track to Release in 2022While Capullo's tweet may be deleted, he has another piece of art on his Instagram featuring Nightwing in Gotham Knights garb with the message, "Working on a wing... I mean, thing! Yeah. A thing." In other words, it very much looks like Capullo is doing the art on a Gotham Knights comic book.

As for who might be writing the book, Capullo hasn't spoiled that. However, it seems likely that he's partnering with his Batman partner, writer Scott Snyder. Both Snyder and Capullo were featured in an October 2021 trailer for Gotham Knights together. At the time, it was believed to be a promotion for the Court of Owls content in Gotham Knights, but it could have been a hint at the two working together on a more material Gotham Knights offering.

Fans are already speculating about what the Gotham Knights tie-in comic could be about. The prevailing theory is that the comic could be a prequel story to Gotham Knights, helping build up some excitement for the game. It could be like DC Comics' Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comic and include codes for cosmetic DLC, too.

It may be some time yet before an official announcement is made regarding Capullo's work, whether it's a Gotham Knights tie-in comic or not. Gotham Knights remains without a release date, after all. Further, DC Comics has already released solicits through April, so the comic would be published starting in May at the earliest. Fans of Batman from Snyder and Capullo will just have to remain patient to find out if the two are working on yet another exciting DC Comics project together.

Gotham Knights releases in 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
