Gotham Knights brings together classic DC heroes Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood after their leader and mentor, Batman, has died. They are tasked with solving his last mission and keeping Gotham City Safe from Villains, Mobsters, and Freaks. Players can play as any of the characters, and each has a unique fighting style and personality to bring to the table. For example, Red Hood, whose actual name is Jason Todd, is a little rough around the edges but an absolute beast when it comes to combat.

As players make their way through the game fighting bad guys and completing missions, they unlock abilities and level up to learn Action Points (AP). AP can be exchanged for combat skills that increase projectile and physical damage or strengthen aim. Red Hood is a damage-dealing powerhouse whose weapon of choice is his fists or two firearms. So, while it's technically possible to get all of his skills and abilities, there are a few that players should prioritize to make battles easier.

Best Abilities for Red Hood

Gotham Knights Momentum abilities

In Gotham Knights, players can access their abilities and skills from the Batcomputer menu. Abilities are called Momentum Abilities and can be unlocked by completing the Knighthood Challenges, side missions, or progressing through the story. Momentum Abilities either need Momentum to work or require a cooldown period. Momentum is earned during combat through hits or evades, so the more successful players are during fights, the more they can use their abilities. Red Hood's best abilities include the following:

Spoilsport Reload: Red Hood will launch himself backward and throw exploding magazines.

Mystical Punch: Red Hood knocks his fists together and charges up his mystical power to deal more punch damage and Elemental Buildup for 30 seconds.

Mystical Rounds: Mystical Rounds is Red Hood's Ultimate Ability. Each character has one Ultimate Ability that is unlocked by completing Knighthood Challenges. Mystical Rounds is an immensely powerful shot that locks onto enemies and deals enormous amounts of damage.

Best Combat Skills for Red Hood

Gotham Knights Red Hood

The more criminals that players engage in combat with the faster they level up and gain AP to equip skills. Red Hood's standard skills fall under three categories: Marksman, Brawler, and Vengeance. He and the other characters have a Knighthood skill tree that functions differently. Let's focus on his standard skills to start.

Marksman

Gotham Knights Marksman

His Marksman skills focus on his firearms and damage output. Red Hood tends to move slower because of his size, so taking advantage of his projectiles to keep his distance during group attacks is incredibly handy. These are the best Marksman skills:

Lucky Rounds: All Red Hood's Ranged Attacks and Precision Aim shots have a slight chance of dealing 5X damage.

Focused Fire+: Red Hood's Focused Fire Aim time is cut in half. Increasing his speed is helpful since enemies tend to run in groups.

Quick Fire Expert: Ranged Combos get a 15% critical chance and damage increase.

Brawler

Gotham Knights Bawler

Brawler skills make him an even better hand-to-hand fighter. Red Hood is known for showing up and dishing out brutal punches to make quick work of beating enemies. Here are his best Brawler skills:

Large Grab: Red Hood can grab large enemies. Large enemies move slower but hit a great deal harder. Normal damage doesn't really affect them, and players will have to lay into them with Heavy Melee attacks. Being able to grab them makes them all the more vulnerable to attacks.

Human Bomb Enhanced: Human Bomb is the first stage of Human Bomb Enhanced. The former means that whenever Red Hood throws an enemy, he attaches a concussion mine to them that will explode when shot. Human Bomb Enhanced increases the damage and radius.

Iron Grip: Most grab moves won't be interrupted by attacks. Red Hood will be able to carry out complete attacks and deal out the max amount of damage.

Vengeance

Gotham Knights Vengeance

Jason Todd is a troubled character, and one skill tree is based on his urge to seek revenge against his enemies and those who have hurt the people close to him. These skills will target specific types of enemies (Mobsters, Freaks, Regulators, etc.). Here are his best Vengeance skills:

Combined Fire: This is beneficial when playing co-op. Red Hood and his allies will combine power on Ranged attacked combos and Precision Aim shots to dish out more damage.

Double Vortex: If Red Hood uses Two-Fisted Reload, he will shoot double rounds temporarily.

Knighthood Skills

Gotham Knights Mystical Leap

Knighthood Skills are unique because every single playable character has the same challenges required to unlock the skill tree. The skill tree starts with them unlocking their Heroic Travel, which for Red Hood is Mystical Leap. After that, the rest of the skills require AP. These are the best Knighthood skills.

Ranged Terror: Whenever Red Hood lands a shot that knocks out an enemy, nearby foes get scared.

Weak Spot Damage +: Any rounds that hit weak spots or headshots have a 15% increase in damage.

Shadow Vengeance: Shadow Vengeance increases the amount of Mystical Rounds used from one to two. Mystical Rounds are a reliable way to handle larger enemies, so the more, the merrier.

Gotham Knights is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
