Gotham Knights is a combat-heavy open-world RPG from Warner Bros. Gotham City is on the verge of chaos following the death of Bruce Wayne and his secret identity as Gotham's most dangerous vigilante. Players get to choose between Red Hood, Batgirl, Nightwing, or Robin to take on the task of defending Gotham City from gangs and try and find out a little more about Batman's death. Players will earn XP and level up as they spend time in the city fighting enemies or investigating potential crimes. In tandem with leveling up, players loot Gear or crafting materials every time they complete a mission or knock out all the criminals committing an active offense.

Gear includes the suit and any weapons a hero can get. While some suits and weapons are awarded for defeating foes or found in Batman's Secret Caches hidden throughout the city, most must be crafted from dropped materials. The materials improve as players increase their skill level, so the Gear's level increases. All Gear has multiple stats, including Rarity, Defense, Health, Damage, Elemental, and Power.

The higher these stats are, the better the equipment is, and players will have better armor and weaponry to combat the higher-level enemies. Most Gear stats fall under the same definitions as other RPGs; however, Power is not so clearly outlined. Since Damage is the level of damage output, that leaves the definition of Power up in the air. So, this guide will cover what the Power stat is for in Gotham Knights.

What is the Power Stat

Gotham Knights Stats

The Power stat is the largest number we see when players first craft a piece of Gear, and it signifies the overall strength of the entire piece. Gear refers to Suit Styles and Melee or Ranged weapons, all of which can be found in the Batcomputer menu. After selecting a piece of equipment, players can review its stats. The Power stat is not a cumulative number of all the stats but an overall representation of what they equal. This also means that the Power stat won't always be the highest stat on that Gear. For example, a Suit Style can have a Power stat of 84, but its Defense will be 720. Whenever a piece of Gear is higher than the equipped one, it will be green and have an upwards pointing arrow. Worse Gear will be red with a downward arrow. Players should continuously craft Gear to ensure they always use the best available.

Gotham Knights Weapon

Melee and Ranged weapons have the Damage stat, and if the Damage stat is higher than the Power stat one versus another, go with the higher Damage. In addition, players can insert Mod Chips for their Gear. These Chips give additional effects and boost the Power of the Gear. Mod Chips are picked up seemingly at random after beating enemies or clearing missions, so the more players level up, the more options they have. Sometimes a weapon with high Damage can be boosted with a Mod Chip to overpower one with a higher Power stat or at least make it equal.

Gotham Knights is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
