The CW's upcoming Gotham Knights series may have cast the perfect Harvey Dent with Misha Collins, and now a new video gives fans a sneak peek at just how intimidating he will look as the villainous Two-Face. Getting a great actor to play the part is one thing, but the makeup team has to be on point for a role like this, and it looks like they're more than capable.

Collins, who starred in Supernatural for the last 12 years of its run on The CW, was cast as Harvey Dent in Gotham Knights last year. As with the rest of the cast, he seemed like a solid choice to play his respective role. But fans would have to go by their imaginations for a while, as they still had yet to see him in costume as the District Attorney who turns into the villain Two-Face after a tragic accident leaves him disfigured. Fortunately, it looks as though Collins himself has flipped a coin and landed on the decision to throw audiences a bone.

In a post on his social media accounts, Collins recently shared a video of himself in the makeup chair for Gotham Knights. The video appears to show him in partially-completed facial prosthetics that give him Two-Face's signature "half-exposed teeth" look. The full process is not complete just yet, as the 20-second video shows a time-lapse of the makeup team taking a mold of the actor's head as part of his journey to bad guy. But even just the lips alone offer a visceral glimpse at what viewers can expect when Gotham Knights is released in just a couple of months.

As a New Year's message to his fans, Collins shared the video with the ominous caption, "From under the layers of this waning year, I will emerge transformed in 2023..." This goes along with how the video ends, with his head completely obscured by a plaster mold. Perhaps that means he'll release another video between now and the show's premiere, offering another look at the finished makeup. Or, more likely, he just wants to keep fans' anticipation high as they wait to see the full reveal in Gotham Knights proper. Though it's worth remembering that the CW show isn't associated with the Gotham Knights video game.

The CW's Gotham Knights will follow the death of Bruce Wayne/Batman as his adoptive son is one of several youths accused of his murder. The young man joins with the others, many of whom share ties with famous Batman villains, to clear their names and protect Gotham City now that it needs new heroes. Along with Collins, the series stars Oscar Morgan, Tyler DiChiaia, Fallon Smythe, Olivia Rose Keegan, and Anna Lore.

The CW has been going through some changes, taking many of its comic book-inspired shows off the air, including Stargirl, which almost got a Shade spinoff. So it will be interesting to see how Gotham Knights will fare in this far less friendly environment. Here's hoping it gets the chance it needs to thrive.

Gotham Knights will premiere on March 14th, 2023, on The CW.
