The upcoming Gotham Knights is a highly anticipated game for comic lovers, as it deals with a concept that has never been seen in gaming: the death of Batman. Players will get a chance to control four of the most important members of the Bat-Family as they cope with the death of their leader while fighting to ensure that Gotham remains safe. However, Gotham Knights could also include another team-up in the form of DLC content that could introduce Batman’s son Damian Wayne into the game as he attempts to uncover the mysteries behind his father’s death.

Damian Wayne is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, daughter of the leader of the League of Assassins, Ra’s al Ghul. As a result, Damian was raised to be a killer, a stark contrast to his father, but possesses all the same abilities as Batman, including a genius-level intellect and formidable fighting prowess. Giving players the chance to control Damian Wayne and certain members of the League would make for an exciting DLC and could also shape how Damian leaves the League and take up the mantle of Robin as a protector of Gotham City.

Damian Wayne’s Reaction To His Father’s Death

Including Damian Wayne in the Gotham Knights setting will give fans a unique insight into how he would react to his father’s death. In the comics, Damian has always been a hothead, and this would translate into the game as he will likely travel to Gotham with his own team to find Batman’s killer and end his life. With the League of Assassins on his side, Damian Wayne would travel around Gotham in search of his father’s killer, which could make for an enjoyable DLC for Gotham Knights.

With Damian Wayne as a playable character, fans will get a chance to experience an unhinged version of Robin, one who is not afraid to kill if he needs to. This would be a stark difference from the main playable cast in Gotham Knights, who have all sworn to not kill to be a part of the Bat Family. Since Damian is not shown at all in the trailers of the game, it is likely that he resides in Nanda Parbat, the headquarters of the League, and will be trained by his mother Talia al Ghul and her father Ra’s al Ghul to be one of the greatest assassins.

Damian Wayne’s Possible Allies

Over the years he spent with Batman, Damian Wayne made many friends that could feature in a DLC of Gotham Knights to assist him in his quest to bring justice for his father. While Bruce himself would not have wanted this, it is easy to see that Talia al Ghul and Ra’s al Ghul would seize this opportunity to test out Damian’s prowess. With the connections he has made thanks to his parents, Damian could put together a team that is dedicated to uncovering the mystery of Batman’s death as the rest of the Bat-Family continue to fight the Court of Owls.

There are many League members that could possibly help Damian Wayne in his time in Gotham, the most notable being Nyssa al Ghul, the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul and Damian’s aunt. She would be a perfect fit for the game as she does not have any supernatural powers but does possess great martial art prowess as well as a genius-level intellect. Another possible member could be Cassandra Cain, who has been Batgirl in past comics and would be invaluable for her knowledge on Gotham and her relationship with the Bat-Family. The final member could be any one of the other popular members of the League, from Black Canary to Lady Shiva, all of whom have worked alongside or against Batman in the past.

While there has been no confirmed DLC for Gotham Knights, fans are hopeful that if any additional content were to drop, it would include a team-up like the Bat-Family. Since one of the game’s focal points is the death of Batman and how the Bat-Family is coping with this loss, seeing Damian Wayne return to Gotham City to find and kill the person that ended his father’s life would be a welcomed addition. Further, getting a chance to play as a team that is not against killing to get what they want and will probably rival the Bat-Family would make for an exciting DLC to the upcoming Gotham Knights.

Gotham Knights is set to release on October 25, 2022, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
