The venture of Google into cloud-gaming has been slightly disappointing and Stadia suffered from a mixed reception. Despite the underwhelming reception of the Stadia, there have been efforts to improve the platform including the development of the pro membership and an increasingly large library of games. This investment in existing titles has continued, and some games by publisher Electronic Arts are now coming to the service. With that said, some of these games have had a mixed reception themselves.

The publisher Electronic Arts owns some of the largest franchises in the world ranging from the rights to sports games to film adaptations. Despite a commercially successful roster, the business practices featured within the games have come under fire for being akin to gambling. While not all the games coming to Stadia have received these complaints, some have had features banned in certain countries.

The well-received Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is coming to Stadia and this game was praised for being a fully-fledged campaign-based Star Wars game. Many critics expressed the need for EA to pursue this kind of game more frequently rather than the likes of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 which was heavily criticized for its reliance on pay to win and loot box mechanics. Many players will be excited to play a game where they can carve out their own Jedi destiny while customizing lightsabers and exploring planets. For players who don't enjoy action and adventure-based games, the other two titles coming to the Stadia are sporting based.

Madden NFL and FIFA are also set to come to the Stadia later this year and these are incredibly popular games year in year out. With the promise of these games coming this year, and no specific date it will be interesting to see if Stadia receives the next iteration of these games. If so players will hope that the game modes are improved upon as numerous aspects of the FIFA 20 were heavily criticized by the community who support the games. Nevertheless, this is a positive step for Stadia as a large gaming library will likely attract players as infrastructures become more equipped to deal with cloud-based 4k gaming.

Stadia is acquiring a range of games and this will help attract players and possibly overturn initial negative impressions. It will be interesting to see if this cloud-based gaming platform can alter opinions as infrastructures enable its performance and new games come to its library.
