The Facility mission is one of the most memorable and iconic levels in Goldeneye 007, renowned as one of the best games of the 90s. It's the second mission in Goldeneye 007 single-player mode, and it's often considered a fan favorite and fun level to complete, especially when using in-game cheats like paintball.

However, despite its fun factor, the Facility mission can be challenging to complete, especially on 00 Agent difficulty, with many guard-heavy areas and additional objectives to complete using the game's tricky inventory mechanics. However, it's worthwhile playing and redoing to unlock many of Goldeneye 007's achievements and cheats, like DK mode. Luckily, the Facility mission isn't too tricky when broken down into steps, as long as players are careful to keep Bond from taking too much damage for the best chance of success.

How To Gain Entry To Lab Area (All Difficulties)

Bond spawns in a vent above the restroom, in a funny recreation of the memorable moment from the Goldeneye James Bond movie. Shoot the guard in the cubicle below in the head using Bond's silenced PP7, and kill any remaining guards. Exit the restroom and turn left through the double doors, looking out for the patrolling guard, and carefully shoot the guard at the base of the stairs.

Open the next set of double doors and stealth kill the guard whose back is turned and who drops the security clearance card B. Follow the green corridor around, killing any enemies and collecting the body armor on the wooden boxes if playing Agent difficulty.

To gain entry to the lab area, players must first use the key card to open the brown door opposite the toilet stairwell, shooting the guards inside. Activate the computer console and run to the second brown door on the left to enter the lab door. Players must be quick as it's a time-locked security door which is a mechanic that may be unfamiliar to beginner Goldeneye 007 players. Kill the two guards standing by the lockers, and head through the next brown door, taking care not to kill any scientists in the area while shooting the group of enemies guarding the corridor.

This is a tricky moment on 00 Agent with no body armor, so use the walls for cover and check for any guards appearing from behind. The adjoining area leads to the lab area for objective A, but there are a few steps to get there, depending upon the difficulty selected.

Double Agent Location (Secret Agent And 00 Agent)

Agent players can ignore the brown doors on either side of the corridor and continue to the next area. However, Secret Agent and 00 Agent players should check both gas canister rooms to locate the Double Agent, Dr. Doak, who can appear in several different lab or canister room locations.

Although causing explosions and holding up scientists can be some of the funniest things to do in Goldeneye 007 for some players, it's crucial not to damage the canisters or kill any scientists as minimizing scientist casualties is an objective for all difficulty levels, resulting in mission failure if not upheld. Dr. Doak gives players a door decoder, which Secret Agents and 00 Agents must use to open the door leading to 006 later in the mission.

How To Use The Door Decoder (Secret Agent And 00 Agent)

To reach the bottling room area containing 006, players must battle through a large volume of guards down the next forked corridor, which features a room with two security consoles in the middle that players can use to open doors to the next areas. The brown door on the right leads to a large canister room with guards, scientists, and a possible spawn location for Dr. Doak, so most of the time, it's not necessary to venture there

The brown door on the left is the way to go, leading to a heavily guarded stairwell and a large lab area. Head up the stairs and around the corner to gain entry to the lab area, completing objective A. Carefully kill all guards around the lab area while avoiding any scientists until players reach another brown door leading to 006, which is open for Agents but locked for Secret and 00 Agents who must use the door decoder to open it. To use the door decoder, select it in Bond's watch inventory with its iconic sounds in the pause menu, then press the shoot button to activate it and unlock the door to the bottling room. Once inside, rendezvous with 006 by the large bottles by standing next to him.

How To Destroy All Tanks In Bottling Room (All Difficulties)

While Bond talks to 006, place a mine on each pair of bottles to distribute them evenly. Quickly head over to the conveyor belt on the right and have Bond's iconic wristwatch ready to press shortly. Ourumov and his guards arrive shortly, capturing 006, and a countdown begins.

As soon as 006 is clear of the blast area and kneels next to Ourumov, set off the explosion to destroy all tanks in the bottling room and quickly leave the room through the conveyor belt exit to avoid taking on too much damage to avoid getting killed in action. This action completes the Facility mission and triggers the end-cut scene of 007 escaping through the conveyor belt.

Goldeneye 007 is currently available on Xbox One, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Switch.
