PS2 and Xbox racing classic FlatOut is currently free to claim on GOG as part of an extended Valentine's Day promo that runs until Saturday, February 17. The limited-time offer is geared toward promoting a newly launched GOG sale that includes thousands of deep game discounts.

Formerly known as Good Old Games, the CD Projekt-owned storefront has been periodically offering free PC titles as part of its marketing efforts since launching in 2008. Many of those giveaways are themed, as was the case with the large-scale holiday initiative that saw GOG give away five games throughout December.

The platform has now launched another similar offer that allows anyone with a GOG account to claim FlatOut free of charge. The 100% discount on the cult-classic racing game debuted on February 14 and is valid until 9am ET on February 17. The deal itself is meant to promote Love At First Pixel 2024, a Valentine's Day-themed GOG sale comprising over 4,000 discounts of up to 95% off on a wide array of games. Unlike the FlatOut giveaway, the sale itself is scheduled to run for a full week, until Wednesday, February 21.

What is FlatOut?

Developed by Finnish studio Bugbear Entertainment, FlatOut kickstarted the eponymous series of action demolition derby titles following its 2004 debut on the PS2, original Xbox, and PC. The game was widely praised for pioneering the use of ragdoll physics within the confines of the racing genre, allowing drivers to get catapulted out of their vehicles during crashes, of which there was no shortage. FlatOut spawned half a dozen sequels, with the entire franchise selling over 3 million units to date. Even some of the series' weaker entries that bombed at launch ended up becoming cult classics.

GOG's Love At First Pixel Sale Has Plenty of Great Deals

As for the overarching sale that spawned this giveaway, some of its highlights include 70% off on the critically acclaimed Divinity: Original Sin games from Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios, as well as an 85% discount on FlatOut 2, which is now available at just $1.49. The recently released Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 has also been discounted by 15% as part of the promo, while select Tomb Raider games are now available at up to 89% off.

Love At First Pixel 2024 continues GOG's tradition of Valentine's Day-themed sales. The next initiative of comparable scope is likely to debut in a matter of weeks, as CD Projekt's PC game storefront also has a tendency to hold massive spring sales.
