The Godzilla and Titans series for Apple TV Plus unveiled 5 cast members who will make their MonsterVerse debut. Among the newly announced cast members is Kiersey Clemons, perhaps best known for starring opposite Ezra Miller's The Flash in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Legendary's MonsterVerse was launched with Gareth Edwards' Godzilla reboot in 2014, which starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston. The film concluded with an epic showdown between Godzilla and two terrifying titans in San Franciso, setting the stage for follow-ups such as Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Godzilla vs. Kong.

For the Godzilla and Titans series, Clemons will portray a character named May. Per The Hollywood Reporter, May is described as an American expatriate who protects herself and others with a rogueish exterior. Joining Clemons will be Anna Sawai as a "G-Day Survivor" and teacher who uncovers a secret when she travels to Japan to settle family affairs. Furthermore, Ren Watabe will play the intelligent and creative Kentaro, who seeks to learn more about his revered but mysterious father. Lastly, Joe Tippett joins the cast as an office worker named Tim who dreams of adventure as a secret agent, while Elisa Laswoski plays a confidant and skilled agent named Duvall.

Godzilla vs. Kong

The Godzilla and Titans series will be set during the aftermath of the San Franciso battle that occurred in Edwards' aforementioned reboot. As the character descriptions suggest, the series will center on a family seeking to uncover hidden secrets of the past and the legacy that links them to the Monarch organization of the MonsterVerse. The first two episodes of the show will be directed by Matt Shakman, who helmed each episode of Marvel Studios' WandaVision. Shankman will also serve as an executive producer on Godzilla and Titans while the showrunner role will be filled by Chris Black, who co-created the series Matt Fraction.

While the Apple TV Plus series will not be the first time Godzilla has starred on TV, it does mark Kaiju's first foray into television as part of the MonsterVerse. This new project may be perfect for the franchise, as even those who praise the MonsterVerse films for their action and spectacle often admit the human characters fall flat in each entry. Perhaps a multi-episode television format is just what the MonsterVerse needs to flesh out the humans so they end up being as memorable as Godzilla himself.
