Of the many console exclusive titles released on the PS4, God of War is at the very top of many peoples' lists. With a gripping and emotional story, raw, satisfying combat, and wondrous, abundant environments for players to explore, God of War is a very special experience for many in the gaming community. And as of today, God of War (2018) is now three years old.

Well before it even released, God of War was one of the most anticipated games of 2018 and once it finally released, it managed to exceed the expectations of many in the gaming community. Quite a number of fans were not expecting the story and characters to be one of the more memorable aspects of the experience. This love and appreciation for the game can definitely be felt on the day of God of War's three year anniversary.

Fans have flocked all over Twitter to celebrate God of War's third anniversary with kind words and GIFS from their favorite moments from the game. Although, something for fans to look forward to is a little sweepstakes giveaway being done by Sony Santa Monica Studio. In a tweet made by the studio's official Twitter page, fans will have the chance to receive a big collection of God of War merchandise along with a free copy of the game.

It's almost hard to believe that it's already been three years since Cory Barlog and the rest of the developers who worked on the game released God of War. Even though it's been three years, though, there admittedly hasn't been much news regarding God of War's upcoming sequel.

God of War: Ragnarok has many in the gaming community understandably excited. The previous entry set-up an entire new world and storyline for players to experience past what occurred during the events of the original God of War trilogy. However, the lack of information regarding the game's development or when fans can expect to see the game in action has many concerned.

Then again, God of War: Ragnarok was only announced earlier last year and more over, there was no official release date given, only a release window. While there have been rumors of the game's release being pushed into 2022, 2021 is far from over and it's still possible that fans will get to see the continuation of Kratos and Atreus' story later in 2021.

God of War is available now exclusively for the PS4.
