God of War Ragnarok's eleventh chapter, Unleashing Hel, kicks off after Kratos arrives back at Sindri's House. He takes a moment to show off the Draupnir Spear before asking Sindri if he found a way to Asgard. Sadly, he has not. Feeling beaten, Kratos decides to go to sleep.

After lying down for a brief moment, he opens his eyes and finds himself in a dream-like world with Faye and Atreus. They paddle down the river in a boat until Kratos awakens in his room. Once this cutscene ends, the player will take control of Atreus for God of War Ragnarok's eleventh chapter.

If the player wishes to upgrade their equipment, they can do so before leaving Atreus' room. Once outside, Atreus can explore Thor and Sif's room now that the door is open. There's also an option to eavesdrop by Thrud's door, where Atreus will overhear an argument between her and her mother.

Atreus, Heimdall, and Thrud in God of War Ragnarok

Continuing with the story, Atreus will find Odin and Thor bickering in the Rift, Odin's personal library. Atreus believes the next piece of the mask is in Helheim, so Odin sends him, Thrud, and Heimdall there at the end of the cutscene. Just like he did with Thor, Atreus must use the mask to find where to go next.

There are Hel-Walkers in the next area, but as Atreus says to Thrud, they go down quite easily. Pressing onward leads to another group of Hel-Walkers before eventually leading to a dead end. Though the mask points Atreus in the right direction, there is currently no way to get past the gate.

Atreus faces a block in God of War Ragnarok

A hoard of Hel-Walkers will ambush Atreus in the previous area. Once they have been defeated, the giant block can be moved to provide Atreus with a way forward. A Legendary Chest containing the Falling Sky ability can be found to the left after climbing up to the next area.

A crate behind the next gate needs to be shot down. To do so, Atreus must equip his Sonic Arrows and destroy the Soundstones blocking his shot. Once the block falls, it can be used to climb into the next room. There's a Revenant and some Hel-Walkers here. The safest way to deal with them is to have Atreus focus on the Hel-Walkers while Thrud deals with the Revenant.

Breaking the barrels on the right side of this room will reveal a Soundstone in the ground. After shooting it, Atreus and Thrud can move on to the next room, where they will find a Red Coffin.

Several Legions and Nightmares attack along the next path. Once they have been dealt with, Atreus can use the mask to open the stone door at the end of this area. Thrud will keep the door in place, permitting Atreus to shoot the Soundstone inside.

After backtracking to the last room, Atreus can use the block he shot loose to climb into the next room, where he will be attacked by a group of Hel-Walkers. Two of them are quite tough, so it might be a good idea to save the game before initiating the fight.

Having defeated the Hel-Walkers, Atreus can move on to the next area, where he will be faced with another gate. There's a Soundstone behind the crates to the right that, when shot, will reveal a way around.

After reaching a dead end, Atreus must return to the previous hallway and fire a Sonic Arrow at the Soundstone beside the block. In the next room, he must fire another one at the grate in the ceiling.

There's a Red Coffin in the same room as the next stone door. Thrud will hold the door open, leaving Atreus to shoot the Soundstone through the window to keep it ajar.

After beating the Hel-Walkers further ahead, Atreus and Thrud will reach a dead end. To get through, Atreus must grapple up to the doorway and proceed into the next area alone. Before searching for the crate, a Legendary Chest containing the Wrath of the Wolf can be found at the end of the peer. Upon opening it, a quick turn to the left should give Atreus a good angle at the Soundstone holding the block up.

Two Revenants are waiting by the chain that must be defeated before Atreus can move on. After they have been beaten, Atreus can follow the path until he reaches a gigantic Hel-Hound. Though Thrud doesn't trust it, Atreus suggests they free it from its chains. Once all three chains have been removed, the Hel-Hound will flee, permitting Atreus to move on.

Returning To Asgard

Sadly, the mask is nowhere to be found, so it's time to backtrack. Eventually, Heimdall shows up to berate Atreus for unleashing the Hel-Hound. They exchange a few angry words before Heimdall warps them back to the Rift. The player can linger at Odin's desk if they wish to hear Heimdall's report. On their way back to Atreus' room, they can also eavesdrop on Sif and Thor through their door.

Once Atreus returns to his room, he can use the wardrobe to upgrade any weapons he needs to. Aside from that, there's nothing else to do here. Upon interacting with the door, Odin will enter and ask Atreus about his trip. After a short cutscene, Atreus will return to his home in Midgard and sets off back to Sindri's House.

Atreus doesn't receive the welcome he expected upon returning home. Instead, he finds his friends fending off a hoard of Hel-Walkers, but Kratos is nowhere to be seen. This battle requires Atreus to destroy as many Hel-Walkers as possible before joining Freya's side and helping her close the portal they're coming through.

The player will gain control of Kratos once Atreus interacts with the portal. From here, he must best defeat the remaining enemies before reconvening with his son. Once the battle is over, Kratos and Atreus will set off on their next adventure.
