God of War Ragnarok features some funny dialogue between Kratos and Mimir that references the Super Smash Bros.-style fighting game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. God of War Ragnarok is full of Easter eggs and references to Kratos' past adventures, including the times he ventured outside the core God of War franchise to appear in other video games.

Since the God of War franchise is so popular, it's no surprise that Kratos has popped up elsewhere from time to time. Kratos is a PlayStation 3 exclusive DLC fighter for Mortal Kombat 9, and he also appeared in 2012's PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale as a key member of that game's roster. For those who may not remember PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, it was essentially the PlayStation-equivalent of Super Smash Bros. with a roster of PlayStation characters and recognizable combatants from third-party franchises.

A reference to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale can be found in God of War Ragnarok that basically makes the bizarre fighting game canon. While out exploring, Mimir brings up Kratos' past participation in tournaments (a possible nod to the other fighting games he's guest-starred in over the years), but wants to talk about a particularly strange one involving "beasts, scoundrels, princesses, the undead, automatons, and...history's greatest musician." While it may not be totally obvious at first, these are references to various characters on the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale roster.

Beasts could be a nod to the various animal-based characters that are on the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale roster, while "scoundrels" likely references Nathan Drake of Uncharted fame. The "princesses" line is referencing Fat Princess, while the undead is a nod to Sir Daniel Fortesque of MediEvil. Automatons is a likely reference to Clank from Ratchet & Clank, while "history's greatest musician" is a hilarious description for PaRappa the Rapper. Kratos does not confirm or deny to Mimir that he participated in such a fight, but instead says that he does not want to talk about it and the matter is dropped.

God of War Ragnarok has many other Easter eggs referencing PlayStation franchises for players to find that are hidden throughout the game's various realms. Players who make it a point to thoroughly explore each of God fo War Ragnarok's realms will find plenty of secrets and helpful items on top of these fun Easter eggs, so it's definitely worth it to take the time to check every nook and cranny

God of War Ragnarok is out now for PS4 and PS5.
