God of War Ragnarok is shaping up to be a massive game, with Santa Monica confirming that it will serve as the end of the Norse saga. With the story set to wrap up, Kratos seems set to clash with Odin by the end of God of War Ragnarok.

Based on the stories told by Mimir in 2018’s God of War, Odin is an awful person who never shies away from cruelty. Because of this, he could end up being an extremely formidable adversary, something that would be fitting of the strongest god in the Norse pantheon. With experienced actor Richard Schiff set to play the king of the Norse gods, he should sound incredible - though his look is currently a mystery amongst the game’s community.

Recently, a concept for God of War Ragnarok’s Odin was posted on Reddit, with the fan interpreting Odin with long hair and plenty of unique items that he had collected over the years. He also had a staff in his hand, clearly ready for a battle with Kratos. Now, that same Redditor has given another take on Odin, with Buffybumcheeks showing the character in a more relaxed position.

Odin can be seen sitting in a fancy throne in this God of War fan art, with the chair boasting a lantern on one side and a unique shape for the back rest. While one of Odin’s hands is resting, another is holding one of his ravens, with the character likely collecting some info about what has been happening within Midgard and the other realms. As for Odin’s outfit, it is less intricate than the one seen in the previous art piece, though it still looks great. Some fur joins with detailed textures to make the getup look like something one would actually wear during the snowy Ragnarok.

As for Odin’s face, his hair is clearly receding, showing that the king of gods is as old as one would expect. He does boast a large beard like the one God of War Ragnarok’s Thor will have, which is a nice touch. Another great detail can be seen with Odin’s eyes. In place of an eye patch, he wears a detailed piece of gold. A tattoo wraps around his other eye, and with Baldur and Thor both boasting some tattoos of their own, it would certainly make sense if Odin were to continue that trend.

With the art maintaining the same style of God of War Ragnarok’s character posters, as the character and actor name is seen in the center, there is plenty to love about the fan’s hard work. With over 1,000 upvotes so far, it is clear that a lot of people appreciate this take on Odin.

God of War Ragnarok launches in 2022 on PS4 and PS5.
