While enduring the Norns' Trial in God of War: Ragnarok, a player shares a video on Reddit that shows them encountering a game-breaking glitch that forces a reset. God of War: Ragnarok is a sequel to the critically-acclaimed God of War that came out in 2018, a reboot of the original in 2005. Players love the game, and it received tons of positive reviews from fans and critics alike.

Even though God of War: Ragnarok received excellent reviews, it has occasional glitches, which is to be expected from any game. For example, one God of War: Ragnarok glitch has King Hrolf Kraki disappearing in the middle of a fight, preventing the player from continuing through the game. Luckily, players can easily record gameplay nowadays with built-in PlayStation 5 features, so they can discover these glitches and share them with others, allowing people to avoid them and developers to fix them.

Reddit user Dancaiman showed a video of them fighting enemies in the Norns' Trial, striking foes and utilizing combos. During the fight, Kratos attacks with the Hilt of Skofnung, and once he performs a stabbing attack, something unexpected happens: Kratos falls through the ground. With the blades still held above his head, Kratos falls into a void underneath the area and falls endlessly. Baldur continues to spout quotes even with Kratos out of the room, which can be humorous to some players.

Even though many view Ragnarok as one of the best Santa Monica Studios games, other players have run into this glitch, showing it wasn't a one-time incident and is something that needs to be fixed. A commenter mentioned how when it happened to them, they fell for about five minutes. Others appreciated the user sharing the video since they were about to reach that part of the game, so they knew to avoid performing that move in order to not lose progress during the fight. Another commenter mentions that people should avoid using the Hilt of Skofnung so that they don't run into the glitch.

Even though players can lose some progress if they run into this glitch, they don't need to worry too much, as this PS5 adventure game offers multiple fail-safes to avoid soft locks. As long as players can pause the game, they can restart at the previous checkpoint, allowing them to start the fight again and avoid the problem. Gamers also have the load feature in the pause menu to load a previous save so that they can get out of the glitch. If all those options fail, they can restart the console and try the fight again, even though they'll lose some progress.

While it's inconvenient, gamers don't need to worry if they encounter the bug since they have multiple fixes. They can keep playing through the game and keep track of other glitches and bugs while reporting the issues so that Santa Monica can potentially release a patch. Until bugs like this get patched - and even if they don't - players can share their experiences and glitches online to help others avoid them in this highly-rated God of War game.

God of War: Ragnarok is available now on PS4 and PS5.
