A trailer for God of War Ragnarok has been released which involves Ben Stiller, LeBron James, and John Travolta embracing their inner Kratos in order to better communicate with their children. The hilarious promotional video arrives a couple of days before the review embargo is due to be lifted, and just over a week before God of War Ragnarok's nine realms will be free for players to journey through.

The anticipation for God of War Ragnarok is approaching fever pitch, with every new trailer, screenshot, and detail revealed only building on the hype. A screenshot of Niflheim was shared by Santa Monica Studio recently, exhibiting the unsettling beauty present in this ravaged realm. A transmog system has been confirmed, meaning players will not have to sacrifice style for substance, and can adopt whatever appearance they may like while battling through hordes of draugr. Following a launch trailer last week, which featured a compilation of already seen segments, a live-action one has now been released, boasting a famous cast.

The trailer begins with Ben Stiller congratulating John Travolta for his contribution to the discussion, lingering on shots of stuffed animals as the blissful tune of Chopin's Nocturne in E Flat Major plays in the background. Stiller is subsequently revealed to be in complete Kratos garb, face and body paint replicating the iconic tattoos of the Ghost of Sparta. He claims that "the God of War dynamic plays out in every parent-child relationship," establishing the event as what seems to be familial therapy, through the lens of Kratos. Thus, each celebrity is joined by a child of theirs, with Stiller's son understandably frustrated when his father claims he only felt close to him after picking up the Leviathan Axe.

LeBron James proceeds to open up, describing how it felt like an arrow to the heart when his son said he "would rather play against me than with me," which Stiller dubs a "Le-Breakthrough." John Travolta then feels left out, wanting his own "Le-Breakthrough," and Stiller questions him about the time he wore his Kratos outfit to the farmer's market. Travolta proudly proclaims people were pointing at him and calling him a "really great dad," but his daughter refutes the reason given for why they were pointing. Comments underneath the video were in agreement that a second part was needed, one in which all three were dressed as Kratos.

For those looking forward to God of War Ragnarok on their own terms, be careful when browsing online. Leaks for the game have already started to slip out from the review window, which prompted a response from Santa Monica Studio, with the developer stating its priority for the experience of God of War Ragnarok to be preserved.

God of War Ragnarok launches on November 9 on PS4 and PS5.
