Besides the usual support Kratos receives during combat in God of War Ragnarok, he is also able to use special skills for each of the three weapons he possesses. By collecting and using Light Runic or Heavy Runic attacks, Kratos will have a chance to either stun the enemy or inflict massive elemental damage according to the wielded weapon.

Just like any weapon in God of War Ragnarok, the Leviathan Axe has Light Runic attacks and Heavy Runic attacks. The latter usually causes more powerful damage or stun than the former. These attacks are either obtained by completing quests from The Path or while doing a Favor.

The Leviathan Axe's special skills can be found in many Realms in God of war Ragnarok, usually inside a Legendary chest. The weapon also has the same amount of Heavy Runic attacks as its Light Runic attacks, which is five. Here's every location for the Heavy Runic attacks:

  • Fog of Fimbulwinter in Svartalfheim
  • Mists of Helheim in Vanaheim
  • Leviathan's Roar in Vanaheim
  • Breath of Thamur in Niflheim
  • Ivaldis Anvil in Midgard

Unfortunately, one of the Runic attacks is related to a very lengthy Favor in God of War Ragnarok.

It’s also possible to trigger Conscience for the Dead Favor for easier navigation. To get the Runic attack, follow the steps below:

  • Jump across the platforms and get closer to the chain.
  • Connect the Sigil Arrows with the red flowers to release it.
  • Climb it and activate the seal to open up a path south.
  • Use the boat to go south, but instead of going to Goddess Falls, head east into the narrow river to unlock a hidden area.
  • Explore the cave until a chain that leads downwards appears.
  • Get down and approach the golden rocks.
