A God of War fan created a photo-realistic drawing of Kratos, the main protagonist of the franchise, using only color pencils. The artist posted their contribution to social media and in a mere 48 hours, it received over 1,000 upvotes and 100 comments on Reddit discussing the brilliant display. Commenters were amazed by the accuracy and detail put into the hero of God of War Ragnarok, claiming the artist should be hired by Sony.

The art displays continue to pour in after God of War Ragnarok won the Game of the Year award from PlayStation Blog, along with victories in the soundtrack, art direct, graphics, and story categories. With the Santa Monica Studio title becoming an instant classic and one of the highest-rated titles of the franchise, all eyes are on the continuation of the journey of Kratos and his son, Atreus.

Reddit user leandrobueno_art may have only been on Reddit for a few days, but his first submission to the platform received praise thanks to the realism of Kratos' appearance. Following the latest release in the franchise, the God of War hero is often drawn by artists, thanks in part to his popularity and his larger-than-life presence. Leandro Bueno Gribner not only shared his work on Reddit, but also uploaded the Kratos piece to other social media platforms such as Instagram and a condensed three-and-a-half minute video on YouTube.

The reaction was unanimous from those who saw the image, claiming the artist was using colored pencils sent from the heavens, while stating the artist was a God himself. "Bruh I thought this was a photo mode closeup," stated one user, while another added, "It's the kind of stuff you can't believe is not faked. And that's a compliment." Reddit has become a home for artists and creators alike to share their beautiful work, from figurines made of pipe cleaners to a baker making Kratos Christmas cookies, there's no telling what someone will come up with next.

God of War's Kratos has become a pop-icon figure in the gaming community, due to the combination of wonderful storytelling over 13 games in 17 years and the brilliant voice acting by Christopher Judge. The voice behind Kratos was not only recognized at the Video Game Awards in 2022, but the God of War star also broke a world record with his acceptance speech, which became the longest speech at 7 minute and 59 seconds, surpassing actress Greer Garson at the 1942 Oscars by almost two and a half minutes. While he may not have seen this piece yet, Judge would certainly have a lot to say about the number of art pieces hitting social media.

God of War Ragnarok is available now for PS4 and PS5.
