There are many Runic attacks that can be found in God of War Ragnarok. Each weapon has its own number of Light and Heavy Runic attacks. They are special skills that’ll give Kratos a burst of extra damage or stun, offering him an advantage in battle.

Although the Draupnir Spear is obtained mid-game in God of War Ragnarok, it only has a total of eight Runic attacks; four Light and four Heavy. Usually, Runic attacks are found inside a Legendary Chest while exploring the nine Realms during the main quest or a Favor. But there are some rare occasions where the special skill is rewarded upon defeating a boss.

All Draupnir Spear Heavy Runic Attacks Location In God Of War Ragnarok

Unlike the other two weapons in God of War Ragnarok, The Draupnir has four Heavy Runic attacks instead of five, which are scattered across three Realms:

  • Honor the Fallen in Vanaheim
  • Artillery of the Ancients in Vanaheim
  • Vindsvalr's Windstorm in Muspelheim
  • Finger of Ruin in Niflheim

Honor The Fallen In Vanaheim

  • Description: A long-range, leaping dive that slams into enemies with overwhelming force.
  • Upgrades:
    • Level 2: 4,250 XP
    • Level 3: 10,500 XP

Honor the Fallen can be found in The Crater of Vanaheim. From the left side of the Western Plains Mystic Gateway, players can see a Legendary Chest. However, it’s inaccessible. To reach it, follow these steps:

  • Look to the right and throw a copy of the Draupnir Spear to the air vent in the rocks.
  • Drop down from the nearby ledge and go to the other side of the boulder.
  • Throw two more copies at the air vents.
  • Detonate the three copies of the spear to destroy the boulder blocking the way.
  • Keep walking to find the Legendary Chest containing Honor the Fallen Heavy Runic attack in God of War Ragnarok to the right.

Artillery Of The Ancients In Vanaheim

  • Description: Hurl Draupnir to the sky, raining down multiplying spears.
  • Upgrades:
    • Level 2: 5,500 XP
    • Level 3: 12,500 XP

During the Creatures of Prophecy's main quest in God of War Ragnarok, Kratos must fight two Drekis bosses near Freyr’s Camp. After defeating the bosses, the Artillery of the Ancients Heavy Runic attack will be rewarded.

Vindsvalr's Windstorm In Muspelheim

  • Description: An array of chaotic cyclones rampages through the field, damaging all enemies in their paths.
  • Upgrades:
    • Level 2: 4,250 XP
    • Level 3: 10,500 XP

After defeating the Flame Phantom in God of War Ragnarok, players will get rewarded with the Vindsvalr’s Windstorm Heavy Runic attack. This fight will happen during The Summoning's main quest while trying to speak with Surtr in Muspelheim.

Finger Of Ruin In Niflheim

  • Description: Summon a massive tornado to send enemies tumbling in its path.
  • Upgrades:
    • Level 2: 5,500 XP
    • Level 3: 12,500 XP

The Finger of Ruin is locked away inside a Legendary Chest in Niflheim. Sadly, players must shoot all 48 Ravens to unlock the final chest in God of War Ragnarok.
