Thor's mighty weapon Mjolnir from God of War Ragnarok has been recreated by one avid fan using the power of a 3D printer. Thor and Mjolnir were both originally parts of Norse mythology that the game used as inspiration for the Norse era of the long-running franchise. Though Norse mythology is the source, the God of War Ragnarok versions of Thor and Mjolnir differ from their origins.

The first glimpse that players are able to see of Thor and Mjolnir is in a secret ending in God of War from 2018. In the short teaser, Thor is seen walking up to the home of Kratos and Atreus while showing off the slightest glimpse of the mighty hammer. A replica of Mjolnir was even included in the collector's and Jotnar edition of God of War Ragnarok.

One gamer loved the hammer so much that they decided to create their own version of the weapon using a 3D printer. In a post made to Reddit, Fcastle35 shared an image that showed off a custom-made version of God of War Ragnarok's Mjolnir. The eager fan also added that they hand painted the item and wrapped it in genuine leather as well. In replies to the thread, they also confirmed that the hammer weighs roughly 2.5 lbs and took about a week of printing to complete. In another reply, Fcastle35 stated that they were currently working on the Leviathan Axe Kratos uses in God of War Ragnarok, as well as a full-sized Mimir head.

Other fans of the series were blown away by the level of quality this user displayed in their creation. One person commented that the 3D-printed hammer was superior to the MCU version of Mjolnir, a comparison that was sure to come as the versions of Thor from God of War Ragnarok and the MCU are often compared against each other as well. Another user pointed out how Bifrost was casually in the background of the image.

God of War Ragnarok has undoubtedly consumed many hours for plenty of gamers in the month since its release. Considering the 25-hour campaign and the variety of quality side quests in God of War Ragnarok, the game is already a time sink of its own. This user has dedicated even more of their personal time to create replicas of the in-game weapons. It will definitely be interesting to see how fans continue to make use of new technologies to display love for their favorite video games by crafting customized items to add to their personal collections.

God of War Ragnarok is out now for PS4 and PS5.
