Fans of the silver screen will certainly recognize Jason Momoa, the Hollywood star who's donned the roles of Aquaman in Justice League, Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, and Ronon Dex in Stargate: Atlantis. It's an impressive resume for any actor, but the 38-year-old's career is hardly approaching its end. A video from a fan interview has just recently surfaced, revealing that Jason Momoa would be interested in adding the role of God of War's Kratos to his credits.

Although the news only made the rounds in a big way this week, both question and answer actually stem from an interview done in 2012. When a fan followed up to his initial question of whether the actor had heard of Kratos (he had), he then asked if there would be any interest in Momoa donning the role in a potential God of War movie. The answer that came was clear: "Hell yes."

Of course, Momoa's admission that he'd love to play the role doesn't mean anything is remotely set in stone. Sony has remained mum on any potential God of War movie, which one would have to imagine to be a gore-filled x-rated flick. Deadpool paved the way to secure a spot for modern x-rated films on the cinema screen, but movies based on video games have a spotty track record at best.

Still, it's hard to deny that the well-built Momoa has a physique that matches the titular God of War. It'll be interesting to see if the potential success of Justice League can segue into a union between Jason and the God of War franchise, for which the movie would certainly up the amount of camera cuts in comparison to the game. The upcoming title, which was one of our top picks from E3 2017, is slated for release in 2018. Given the hype behind it, it could be the perfect storm for Sony to launch the franchise into a new medium.

God of War is set to release in 2018, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
