God of War includes many different valkyries who are all difficult to defeat. The Valkyrie Queen, however, is a separate story completely. She is complicated and encompasses the skills of all the previous valkyries. In order to defeat her, players have to dedicate themselves to God of War and prepare thoroughly for the fight.
The Valkyrie Queen is the culmination of all the other valkyrie fights, and is God of War's most difficult boss encounter. The Queen, Sigrun, is capable of fighting in multiple different ways, both in close quarters and at range. Her tactics can easily destroy players, and without proper preparation and knowledge of her combat, fans won't be able to defeat her.
How to Defeat The Valkyrie Queen
The Valkyrie Queen cannot be accessed until players have first killed all the other valkyries in God of War and placed each of their helmets in the throne circle. Once that has been done, the Queen can be targeted, but players should make sure they are prepared before they engage in combat with Sigrun. Using the proper gear and abilities is the key to defeating her. Players should stick to armor sets that increase their runic potential for this fight. While the valkyrie armor set acquired from killing the Queen's allies is good, it doesn't focus highly on runic stats.
Players should also focus on weapons that boost stats or provide healing, and should rely on the valkyrie talisman that allows time to slow. With time halted, players can focus on runic attacks, which are very effective at damaging the Valkyrie Queen. Because Sigrun has the abilities of the other valkryies, she is powerful at any range and can put up a strong defense. With the advancement of God of War's story, however, players have more opportunities to acquire gear and experience that can be used to defeat her. In addition, Sigrun should not be attacked until players have found all the apples and received maximum health.
Sigrun is a serious boss. There are plenty of games that include challenging enemies, but God of War is up there with Dark Souls for providing some of the most difficult foes players will have ever encountered. Fortunately, the Valkyrie Queen is not impossible to defeat. With full health, upgraded gear, focus on runes, and the ability to slow time, players will be able to best Sigrun. Though, it won't be easy. Now that God of War is being brought to PC, more players than ever will be able to see that the Valkyrie Queen is a boss that is truly worthy of her epic reputation.
God of War is available on PS4 and PS5, and will be coming to PC on January 14, 2022.
