Every Special Guest Confirmed to Appear at The Game Awards 2023

The Game Awards is getting bigger and better with each year that passes, and 2023's ceremony has already confirmed a number of special guest stars.

While announcing this year's Best Performer for voice acting at The Game Awards, last year's winner Christopher Judge threw shade at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for its infamously short campaign. Modern Warfare 3 faced negative feedback for a lack of content with its main single-player campaign. Judge, whose speech last year was lambasted for taking up just shy of eight minutes of airtime, decided to poke fun at Modern Warfare 3 and developer Activision.

Fun fact: My speech was actually longer than this year's Call of Duty campaign. *laughs* Ah, another company I'll never work for.

- Christopher Judge

The crowd immediately responded with uproars of laughter and mild shock. Judge shared in the laughter before quickly moving on to announce the winner of the category. Neil Newbon took home the award for Best Performer, keeping his speech short and also making a brief comment on not wanting to take up too much time on the microphone.

While Judge's joke was lighthearted, it resonated with many in the audience who wholly supported the callout. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 currently holds "Mostly Negative" reviews on Steam and other platforms and is considered by many to be one of the weakest entries in the franchise. While the open-world Zombies mode and multiplayer in Modern Warfare 3 have been praised for their fun mechanics, the main campaign remains a massive letdown for many CoD fans. As such, players were thoroughly amused by the Kratos voice actor's joke, with many already taking to social media to share clips and memes of the latest Christopher Judge Game Awards highlight.

As The Game Awards continue to reveal new trailers, unexpected guests, and the award winners, more funny moments are likely to arise. From Crash Bandicoot's appearance at past events to Judge's hilariously long speech, fans will want to stay tuned for more key moments at The Game Awards.
