As in any fantasy work, humans are the populous but not the only race that exists in this Goblin Slayer world as they cohabit peacefully with other races, and they do not with some. Races like ogres are known to live away from humans, while elves and dwarves can reside peacefully amongst themselves and humans.

1 Ogres

Ogre Goblin Slayer

They have human-like features, but they are ten times bigger than humans in height and size. Ogres are often known for their immense build, horns that stick out of their foreheads, and ridiculously large fangs.

Undoubtedly, they possess great strength and are even known to have magical and regenerative abilities, making them a great threat to their opponents. As such, they induce fear in the minds of adventurers, as even a silver-ranked adventurer knows best to avoid an ogre in battle because their strength is no match for an ogre. However, ogres are known to live peacefully with goblins.

2 Rheas

Rheas Goblin Slayer

Rheas look like humans, but their pointy ears and small stature are what distinguish them from humans. They are also known to live around meadows. The first notable Rhea appears in episode six, and he is Rhea Scout, a steel-ranked adventurer who came in for a promotional exam. Instead, he is outed for stealing from the treasures he found, leading to his demotion from steel rank to a porcelain rank adventurer.

In episode seven, viewers see a bit of the goblin slayer’s past and his mentor, who happens to be an old rhea named Burglar. This old rhea trained the young boy to become the goblin slayer he is now. Also, Druid Girl is an adventurer of the guild that belongs to the Rhea race.

3 Elves

Elves

Elves are peculiar for their long and sharp ears and their lifespans, as they tend to live longer than humans and dwarves. Elves can choose to either live in the forest or among humans in the cities. Female elves are immensely beautiful, and their beauty attracts human suitors.

Elves have three major sub-races: high elves, dark elves, and half-elves. High elves are more inclined to stay in the forest, and only a few leave the forest out of curiosity to explore the outside world. A High Elf that made an appearance is the High Elf Archer, a female adventurer, but unfortunately, was not ready for the darkness that comes with being one. Dark elves are mostly evil, just like it suggests in their name, and they reside with humans and not in the forest like high elves. Half-elves are half-elf and half-human, an offspring gotten from a human and an elf.

4 Lizardmen

Lizardman attacking

Lizardmen are giant lizards with human-like features and characteristics. The first of this race appeared in episode three of Goblin Slayer, which is Lizard Priest. Through him, viewers get to know that, as a race, lizardmen do not kill livestock; rather, they nurture them, and this is why he found foods from animals like cheese and milk very surprising.

Lizardmen are friendly and inviting creatures, even though they have quite an intimidating and monster-like look. In addition, they live in the forests just like Elves.

5 Goblins

Goblins

It is unsure where goblins originate from, but the goblin slayer believes they come from the green moon. Goblins do not live peacefully with humans as they enjoy attacking their small villages and kidnapping their women with the sole purpose of impregnating them so that they create more goblins.

The only race goblins are known to live peacefully with are ogres, and there are different sub-races of goblins: normal, riders, hobgoblins, champions, lords, and paladins. They all appeared in the anime, except the goblin paladin, who only appears in the movie Goblin Slayer: Goblin's Crown.

6 Dwarves

Dwarves

Dwarves cannot go unnoticed because of their incredibly short height. They have human features, but it is their height that sets them apart. Also, in comparison to humans, they have a longer lifespan.

The first dwarf that appears in the Goblin Slayer is the Dwarf Shaman, who is always happy and ready to eat, drink, and celebrate. Almost every time, he bickers and argues with the High Elf Archer, but times and times again, it has always been playful, and they have each other’s backs in times of trouble.

7 Humans

Inspector and Guild Manager

Humans are a common race that is evident in any work of fantasy. In the Goblin Slayer world, individuals are adults from the moment they turn 15, as seen in the case of the Priestess. She left home once she turned 15 to become an adventurer.

Most of the adventurers in the Goblin Slayer are humans. Humans run the adventurer’s guild, and in addition, they consider themselves to be the superior race in this world. Humans are, unfortunately, targets of Goblins, especially the female humans.
