Ghost of Tsushima offers players the use of several ranged weapons, but the Half Bow and Long Bow are by far the most traditionally useful ones. Players wanting to get these will need to know where and when to look for them, but it is well worth spending the time do find them.

At the start of Ghost of Tsushima, Jin starts only with his katana and broken armor, but players can unlock new weapons as they progress through the game. Though most of these are pretty easy to get, some of them can actually be missed entirely if the player isn't careful.

In the case of the bow weapons, one of them is mandatory while the other can actually be missed. For this reason, players may want to look into how to get both weapons before getting too far into the story of Ghost of Tsushima to ensure that they aren't missed.

The Half Bow is the first ranged weapon players will have access to, and is also, like Ghost of Tsushima's unmissable trohpies, an unmissable weapon. The Half Bow is obtained automatically during the first act of the game as soon as players complete the main quest, "The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa." This can be done as soon as the prologue is completed, and finishing this quest won't move the story on too far meaning nothing will be missed. Players should head to the dojo above Hiyoshi Springs to find Ishikawa and complete this quest as soon as possible.

The Long Bow, on the other hand, can be completely missed. Because of this, its location is one important thing to know before playing Ghost of Tsushima. In order to unlock this powerful ranged weapon, players will need to complete the mythic tale, "Curse of Uchitsune," which can be found during the first act as well. Players will first need to complete "The Warrior’s Code", "The Tale of Ishikawa", "The Tale of Lady Masako", and "Blood on the Grass" and then return to Hiyoshi Springs. There a musician will give a quest to find a fabled longbow. Completing this quest will reward the player with the bow, which is far more powerful than the Half Bow.

Each bow has a unique arrow type as well. The Long Bow is capable of using explosive arrows, but the player must first unlock the Explosive Arrow Mythic Technique. On the other hand, the Half Bow can shoot fire arrows, and this skill is taught by Sensei Ishikawa toward the end of his questline. Neither of these require players to observe leaders in Ghost of Tsushima.

Ghost of Tsushima is available now for PS4.
